He speaks to his soul regularly, both in good times and in bad. He isn't just waiting; he is waiting hopefully and expectantly for what God has promised, his salvation and his glory. He encourages us to wait on God as he says, "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits. And in His word I do hope."
