"Wise words serve as good counsel"

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health. Proverbs 12:18.

Today's verse reminds us of the power of our words. Our words can cut deeply when spoken in anger or frustration without due thought. Once spoken, they cannot be retracted. Therefore, it's crucial to think before speaking. Conversely, words spoken with wisdom can bring healing to wounded souls. Wise words serve as good counsel in times of need and extinguish the fires ignited by harsh words.  Apostle James says, our tongue is an unruly evil; it is a world of iniquity; it defiles the whole body; it sets on fire the course of nature; it is a fire from hell; it is full of deadly poison. We must be mindful of the life and death found in our tongues and use them carefully. King Solomon says in Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

பட்டயக்குத்துகள்போல் பேசுகிறவர்களும் உண்டு; ஞானமுள்ளவர்களுடைய நாவோ ஒளஷதம். நீதிமொழிகள் 12:18.

இன்றைய வசனம் நமது வார்த்தைகளின் சக்தியை நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறது. சரியான சிந்தனை இல்லாமல் கோபத்தில் அல்லது விரக்தியில் பேசும்போது நம் வார்த்தைகள் மற்றவர்களை ஆழமாகக் காயப்படுத்தும். ஒருமுறை பேசினால், திரும்பப் பெற முடியாது. எனவே, பேசுவதற்கு முன் சிந்திக்க வேண்டியது அவசியம். மாறாக, ஞானத்துடன் பேசப்படும் வார்த்தைகள் காயமடைந்த ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கு ஆறுதலை அளிக்கும். ஞானமான வார்த்தைகள் ஏற்ற நேரத்தில் நல்ல ஆலோசனையாக செயல்படுவது மட்டுமல்ல, கடுமையான வார்த்தைகளால் பற்றவைக்கப்பட்ட தீயை அணைக்கின்றன. அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய யாக்கோபு கூறுகிறார், நம் நாவு அடங்காத பொல்லாங்குள்ளது; அது அநீதி நிறைந்த உலகம்; அது முழுச்சரீரத்தையும் கறைப்படுத்துகிறது; ஆயுள் சக்கரத்தைக் கொளுத்திவிடுகிறதாயும், நரக அக்கினியினால் கொளுத்தப்படுகிறதாயும் இருக்கிறது! சாவுக்கேதுவான விஷம் நிறைந்ததுமாயிருக்கிறது. நம் நாவில் காணப்படும் வாழ்வையும் மரணத்தையும் கவனத்தில் கொண்டு அவற்றை கவனமாகப் பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும். சாலொமோன் ராஜா நீதிமொழிகள் 18:21-ல், “மரணமும் ஜீவனும் நாவின் அதிகாரத்திலிருக்கும்; அதில் பிரியப்படுகிறவர்கள் அதின் கனியைப் புசிப்பார்கள்.” என்கிறார்.
