"Humility leads to exaltation; pride, downfall."

Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Matthew 23:12.

It is a reminder that God works to humble those who try to exalt themselves. At the same time, God works to lift up those who serve and honor others with a humble heart. Apostle Paul says that Jesus was God, and yet, out of His great love for us, He chose to come to earth as a human. Jesus even chose to obey God the Father to the point of a painful death on the cross for our sins. Jesus is the perfect example of humility, and we are called to follow His example. People with humility put the needs of others first before their own, sacrificing their desires and ambitions.  Apostle Paul says in Philippians 2:3, "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself."

தன்னை உயர்த்துகிறவன் தாழ்த்தப்படுவான், தன்னைத் தாழ்த்துகிறவன் உயர்த்தப்படுவான். மத்தேயு 23:12.

தங்களை உயர்த்துகிறவர்கள் தாழ்மையுடையவும், தாழ்மையான இதயத்துடன் மற்றவர்களுக்கு சேவை செய்து மரியாதை செய்பவர்களை மேன்மையடையச் செய்யவும் தேவனால் கூடும். அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுல் சொல்வதுபோல், இயேசு தேவனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருந்தும், நம்மேல் வைத்த தமது அன்பினால், இந்த உலகுக்கு மனிதனாக வந்தார். அவர் பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நம்முடைய பாவத்திற்காக சிலுவை மரணத்திற்குத் தன்னை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார். இயேசு மனத்தாழ்மைக்கு சரியான முன்மாதிரி, அவருடைய முன்மாதிரியைப் பின்பற்ற நாம் அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம். மனத்தாழ்மை உள்ளவர்கள் தங்கள் ஆசைகளையும் லட்சியங்களையும் தியாகம் செய்து, மற்றவர்களின் தேவைகளை தங்கள் தேவைகளுக்கு முன் வைக்கிறார்கள். அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுல் பிலிப்பியர் 2:3 -ல் கூறுகிறார், “ஒன்றையும் வாதினாலாவது வீண்பெருமையினாலாவது செய்யாமல், மனத்தாழ்மையினாலே ஒருவரையொருவர் தங்களிலும் மேன்மையானவர்களாக எண்ணக்கடவீர்கள்.”
