"Sacrificial love: Christ's gift for us."

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. John 15:13.

In this scripture, Jesus speaks about the profound sacrificial love He demonstrated at the cross for us. No one would willingly die even for their loved ones, yet Jesus Christ gave His life for strangers like us. Christ paid the price for the sins of the whole world, willingly going to the Cross and offering Himself to satisfy the requirement for the salvation of mankind. Those who receive this eternal gift of salvation are expected to abide in Him, reflect His love, and love others in the same way He loved us. As we allow this love to deepen in our hearts, it naturally overflows to those around us. As John writes, this love empowers us to sacrificially serve others, even to the point of laying down our lives for them.  1 John 3:16 says, "By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."

ஒருவன் தன் சிநேகிதருக்காகத் தன் ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கிற அன்பிலும் அதிகமான அன்பு ஒருவரிடத்திலுமில்லை. யோவான் 15:13.

இ  ந்த வசனத்தில், இயேசு நமக்காக சிலுவையில் வெளிப்படுத்திய ஆழமான தியாக அன்பைக் குறித்து பேசுகிறார். தங்கள் அன்புக்குரியவர்களுக்காக கூட யாரும் மனப்பூர்வமாக மரிக்க மாட்டார்கள், ஆனாலும் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து நம்மைப் போன்ற அந்நியர்களுக்காக தம்முடைய ஜீவனைக் கொடுத்தார். கிறிஸ்து முழு உலகத்தின் பாவங்களுக்கான விலையை செலுத்தினார், மனமுவந்து சிலுவைக்குச் சென்று, மனிதகுலத்தின் இரட்சிப்பின் தேவையை பூர்த்தி செய்ய தன்னையே ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார். இரட்சிப்பின் இந்த நித்திய பரிசைப் பெறுபவர்கள் அவரில் நிலைத்திருக்கவும், அவருடைய அன்பை பிரதிபலிக்கவும், அவர் நம்மை நேசித்ததைப் போலவே மற்றவர்களையும் நேசிக்கவும் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறார்கள். இந்த அன்பை நம் இதயங்களில் ஆழமாக அனுமதிக்கும்போது, அது இயல்பாகவே நம்மைச் சுற்றியுள்ளவர்களுக்கு நிரம்பி வழிகிறது. யோவான் எழுதுகிறபடி, இந்த அன்பு மற்றவர்களுக்காக நம் உயிரைக் கொடுக்கும் அளவுக்குங்கூட தியாக ரீதியாக சேவை செய்ய நமக்கு அதிகாரம் அளிக்கிறது.  1யோவான் 3:16 சொல்லுகிறது, “அவர் தம்முடைய ஜீவனை நமக்காகக் கொடுத்ததினாலே அன்பு இன்னதென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; நாமும் சகோதரருக்காக ஜீவனைக்கொடுக்கக் கடனாளிகளாயிருக்கிறோம்.”

God will render…. eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality. Romans 2:6,7. In this scripture, Apostle Paul addresses the concept of judgment and how people will be judged by God. He emphasizes that God's judgment is fair and will be based on our actions and beliefs. However, the Bible teaches that no one can perfectly do good or achieve salvation by their works alone, because all have sinned (Romans 3:23). Eternal life is ultimately a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ, not earned by good deeds (Ephesians 2:8-9). Good works are important as evidence of a genuine faith and relationship with God, but they are not the basis for salvation.
