"Jesus: I have overcome the world."
Apostle Peter is writing to Christians who have been enduring great persecution. He encourages them by explaining that none of their sufferings are in vain but are meant for eternal glory through Christ Jesus. Peter makes it clear that suffering is unavoidable when we choose to follow Jesus. The Lord Jesus Himself suffered, and after His time of suffering, He entered into His eternal glory and is with us as a living God. Peter also came to understand more fully that after we have experienced suffering for a little while, God, in His grace, will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish us. Romans 8:18 says, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."

அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பேதுரு மிகுந்த துன்புறுத்தல்களைச் சகித்து வரும் கிறிஸ்தவர்களுக்கு எழுதுகிறார். அவர்களுடைய பாடுகள் எதுவும் வீண் அல்ல, ஆனால் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின் மூலம் நித்திய மகிமைக்காகவே இருக்கின்றன என்று விளக்குவதன் மூலம் அவர் அவர்களை உற்சாகப்படுத்துகிறார். இயேசுவைப் பின்பற்ற நாம் முடிவெடுக்கும்போது துன்பம் தவிர்க்க முடியாதது என்பதை பேதுரு தெளிவுபடுத்துகிறார். கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு தாமே பாடுபட்டு, அவருடைய பாடுகளுக்குப் பிறகு, நித்திய மகிமைக்குள் பிரவேசித்து, ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனாக நம்முடன் இருக்கிறார். நாம் சிறிது காலம் பாடுகளை அனுபவித்த பிறகு, தேவன் தம்முடைய கிருபையினால் நம்மை பரிபூரணப்படுத்தி, உறுதிப்படுத்தி, பெலப்படுத்தி, ஸ்தாபிப்பார் என்பதையும் பேதுரு இன்னும் முழுமையாக புரிந்துகொண்டார். ரோமர் 8:18 சொல்லுகிறது, "இக்காலத்துப் பாடுகள் நம்மில் வெளிப்படப்போகிற மகிமைக்கு ஒப்பிடத்தக்கதல்லவென்று எண்ணுகிறேன்" என்றார் ரோமர் 8:18 சொல்லுகிறது. "ஆதலால் இக்காலத்துப் பாடுகள் இனி நம்மிடத்தில் வெளிப்படும் மகிமைக்கு ஒப்பிடத்தக்கவைகள் அல்லவென்று எண்ணுகிறேன்."
