"Seek God's help, not man's"

Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:8.

This verse connects back to the opening verses of Psalm 121, where we read: "I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth" (Psalm 121:1-2). Our God is the great source of everything. King David says in Psalm 24:1, "The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein." If we know Him for who He is, we can seek help from Him anytime. To receive anything from Him, we must call upon His name, trust in Him, and have faith in Him. Many times, we trust people and seek help from them. King David, in his lifetime, managed one of his greatest challenges by defeating Goliath. He neither depended on his own strength nor on King Saul's armor. David knew that his help could only come from the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Are we seeking God or man for help? Let us seek His face alone. Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble."

நம்முடைய சகாயம் வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்கின கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தில் உள்ளது. சங்கீதம் 124:8.

இந்த வசனம் சங்கீதம் 121 இன் ஆரம்ப வசனங்களுடன் மீண்டும் இணைகிறது, அங்கு நாம் படிக்கிறோம்: "எனக்கு ஒத்தாசை வரும் பர்வதங்களுக்கு நேராக என் கண்களை ஏறெடுக்கிறேன். வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்கின கர்த்தரிடத்திலிருந்து எனக்கு ஒத்தாசை வரும். (சங். 121:1-2). நம் தேவன் எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் பெரிய உறைவிடம். தாவீது ராஜா சங்கீதம் 24:1ல் கூறுகிறார், "பூமியும் அதின் நிறைவும், உலகமும் அதிலுள்ள குடிகளும் கர்த்தருடையது." அவர் யார் என்பதை நாம் அறிந்தால், எப்போது வேண்டுமானாலும் அவரிடமிருந்து உதவியை நாடலாம். அவரிடமிருந்து எதையும் பெற, நாம் அவரை  நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட வேண்டும், அவரை நம்ப வேண்டும், அவர் மீது விசுவாசம் வைக்க வேண்டும். பல நேரங்களில், நாம் மக்களை நம்புகிறோம், அவர்களிடமிருந்து உதவியை நாடுகிறோம். தாவீது ராஜா தன் வாழ்நாளில், கோலியாத்தை வீழ்த்தியதன் மூலம் மிகப்பெரிய சவால்களில் ஒன்றைச் சமாளித்தார். அவன் தன் பலத்தையோ சவுல் ராஜாவின் போர்க்கவசத்தையோ சார்ந்திருக்கவில்லை. வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்கினவரிடமிருந்துதான் தனக்கு உதவி வர முடியும் என்பதை தாவீது அறிந்திருந்தார். உதவி கேட்டு நாம் தேவனை நாடுகிறோமா அல்லது மனிதனிடம் உதவி கேட்கிறோமா? அவருடைய முகத்தை மட்டுமே தேடுவோம். சங்கீதம் 46:1 சொல்லுகிறது, "தேவன் நமக்கு அடைக்கலமும் பெலனும், ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் அநுகூலமுமான துணையுமானவர்."
