Blog # 324 - "Train children in God's ways"

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6.

This verse is foundational for raising our children in the faith. As parents, we all want our children to grow in wisdom, knowledge, fear of God, in the word of God, and to follow Jesus sincerely. We want them to learn good habits and be disciplined. We should know the abilities and limitations of each child and accordingly train them in the way they should grow. We should be role models for our children. More than from teaching, they learn from our behaviors. God has given us the responsibility to train them in the right way so that they will not depart from it when they are old. Develop habits such as self-control as appropriate to their age. Training children takes a lot of effort. Are you training your children in the ways of God? Ephesians 6:4 says, "And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."

பிள்ளையானவன் நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியிலே அவனை நடத்து; அவன் முதிர்வயதிலும் அதை விடாதிருப்பான். நீதிமொழிகள் 22:6.

இந்த வசனம் நம் குழந்தைகளை விசுவாசத்தில் வளர்க்க அடிப்படை ஆகும். பெற்றோர்களாகிய நாமெல்லாரும், நம் பிள்ளைகள் ஞானத்திலும், அறிவிலும், தேவ  பயத்திலும், தேவ வார்த்தையில், இயேசுவை நேர்மையாகப் பின்பற்றுவதிலும் வளரவேண்டும் என்று நாமெல்லாம் விரும்புகிறோம்.அவர்கள் நல்ல பழக்கங்களை கற்றுக்கொண்டு ஒழுக்கமுள்ளவர்களாக இருக்கவேண்டும் என்பதும் நமது விருப்பம். ஒவ்வொரு குழந்தையின் திறன்களையும், குறைகளையும் நன்கு அறிந்து, அவர்கள் வளர வேண்டிய வழியில் அவர்களை பயிற்றுவிக்கவேண்டும். நாமே நமது குழந்தைகளுக்கு முன்மாதிரிகளாக இருக்கவேண்டும். கற்பிப்பதை விட, அவர்கள் நமது நடத்தை மூலம் கற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் முதிர்வடைந்த பின்னும் அதிலிருந்து விலகாமல் இருக்கும்படி சரியான வழியில் அவர்களை பயிற்றுவிப்பது நமக்கு தேவன் அளித்துள்ள பொறுப்பாகும். அவர்களின் வயதுக்கு ஏற்ப சுயக் கட்டுப்பாடு போன்ற பழக்கங்களை வளர்க்கவேண்டும். பிள்ளைகளைப் பயிற்றுவிப்பது மிகுந்த முயற்சியுடன் செயல் படுத்த வேண்டிய ஒன்றாகும். நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளை தேவனின் வழிகளில் பயிற்றுவிக்கிறீர்களா? எபேசியர் 6:4 சொல்லுகிறது, "பிதாக்களே, நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளைக் கோபப்படுத்தாமல், கர்த்தருக்கேற்ற சிட்சையிலும் போதனையிலும் அவர்களை வளர்ப்பீர்களாக.”
