"Blog Y2 020 - True Repentance Comes from the Heart"

So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Joel 2:13.

This verse emphasizes that we should repent before the Lord with our hearts, not just through outward actions like tearing clothes as in the Old Testament days. He reminds us that God is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in kindness. God is near to the brokenhearted and those with a contrite spirit. Too often, people speak of repentance but fail to take any real action. God warns against those who appear perfect outwardly but lack inner transformation. When we come to Him with a truly broken heart, God delights in renewing, changing, restoring, redeeming, saving, and transforming us. He is pleased when we turn from our sins with fasting, weeping, and mourning. Are you seeking God with a heart willing to change? Psalm 34:18 says: "The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit."

பழைய ஏற்பாட்டு நாட்களில் இருந்தது போல வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழிப்பது போன்ற வெளியரங்கமான செயல்களால் மாத்திரமல்ல, முழு இருதயத்தோடு கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக மனந்திரும்ப வேண்டும் என்பதை இந்த வசனம் வலியுறுத்துகிறது.  தேவன் கிருபையும், இரக்கமும், நீடிய சாந்தமும், மிகுந்த தயவும் உள்ளவர் என்பதை அவர் நமக்கு நினைவூட்டுகிறார். நொறுங்குண்ட இருதயமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும், நறுங்குண்ட ஆவியுடையவர்களுக்கும் தேவன் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறார். பெரும்பாலும், மக்கள் மனந்திரும்புதலைப் பற்றி பேசுகிறார்கள், ஆனால் உண்மையான எந்த நடவடிக்கையும் எடுக்கத் தவறுகிறார்கள். வெளிப்பார்வைக்கு பரிபூரணராகத் தோன்றினாலும் உள் மாற்றம் இல்லாதவர்களைக் குறித்து தேவன் எச்சரிக்கிறார். உண்மையிலேயே நொறுங்குண்ட இருதயத்துடன் நாம் அவரிடம் வரும்போது, நம்மைப் புதுப்பிப்பதிலும், மாற்றுவதிலும், மீட்டெடுப்பதிலும், மீட்பதிலும், இரட்சிப்பதிலும், மாற்றுவதிலும் தேவன் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறார். உபவாசத்தோடும், அழுகையோடும், புலம்பலோடும் நம்முடைய பாவத்திலிருந்து திரும்பும்போது அவர் சந்தோஷப்படுகிறார். நீங்கள், மாற்றத்திற்கு தயாராக உள்ள இதயத்துடன் தேவனைத் தேடுகிறீர்களா? சங்கீதம் 34:18 சொல்லுகிறது: “நொறுங்குண்ட இருதயமுள்ளவர்களுக்குக் கர்த்தர் சமீபமாயிருந்து, நருங்குண்ட ஆவியுள்ளவர்களை இரட்சிக்கிறார்.”
