"Blog Y2 089 - Christ Born: Prophecy Fulfilled"

For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11.

This is a personal and intimate declaration that the long-awaited Messiah has finally arrived. The location of Jesus' birth is also emphasized as being "in the city of David." This fulfills the prophecy that the Messiah would come from the line of David and be born in this historic city. The verse further identifies the infant Jesus as "a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." He is the long-awaited Messiah, the Anointed One, who has come to bring salvation to humanity. The title "Christ" highlights His role as the promised deliverer, while "the Lord" acknowledges His divine authority and sovereignty.
