"Jesus will give us a clean heart"

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10.

King David presented Psalm 51 as a heartfelt prayer when the prophet Nathan rebuked him for his affair with Bathsheba. The heart is the source of all evil and the root of all sins. David realized his mistakes and begged for God’s mercy, cleansing, and restoration. This verse reflects the confidence and relationship David had with God. Similarly, Jesus expects us to have a relationship with Him to receive a new heart and spirit. When we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, Jesus will give us a clean heart and fill us with the right spirit. Apostle John in 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
