"Words wield power, choose carefully."

He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Proverbs 13:3.

Today's verse states that those who guard their mouths and carefully choose their words will avoid troubles and preserve their lives, whereas those who speak carelessly will face ruin. It emphasizes the importance of ensuring that our conversations are always filled with grace and wisdom, enabling us to respond appropriately to everyone. Despite the mouth being small and the tongue being a tiny part of the body, they possess the power to destroy our lives. Jesus teaches us that it is our spoken words that defile us, not what we ingest, as our speech reveals the condition of our hearts. James also warns us that a small spark from the tongue can ignite a destructive fire, like a forest blaze, that can even ruin many lives.  Psalm 141:3 says, "Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips."

தங்கள் வாயைப் பாதுகாத்து, வார்த்தைகளைக் கவனமாகத் தெரிந்துகொள்பவர்கள் தொல்லைகளைத் தவிர்த்து தங்கள் உயிரைக் காப்பாற்றிக் கொள்வார்கள் என்றும், கவனக்குறைவாகப் பேசுபவர்கள் அழிவை எதிர்கொள்வார்கள் என்றும் இன்றைய வசனம் கூறுகிறது. நமது உரையாடல்கள் எப்போதும் இரக்கம் மற்றும் ஞானம் நிறைந்து இருப்பதின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்தி, அனைவருக்கும் சரியான முறையில் பதிலளிக்க உதவுகிறது. வாய் சிறியதாகவும், நாக்கு உடலின் ஒரு சிறிய பகுதியாக இருந்தாலும், நம் வாழ்க்கையை அழிக்கும் சக்தி அவற்றுக்கு உண்டு. நாம் பேசும் வார்த்தைகளே நம்மைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்துகின்றன, நாம் உட்கொள்பவை அல்ல என்று இயேசு நமக்குக் கற்பிக்கிறார், ஏனெனில் நமது பேச்சு நம் இதயங்களின் நிலையை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது. நாவிலிருந்து ஒரு சிறிய தீப்பொறி, ஒரு அழிவுகரமான நெருப்பைப் பற்றவைக்கக்கூடும், காட்டுத்தீ போல பல உயிர்களை அழிக்கக்கூடும் என்றும் யாக்கோபு நம்மை எச்சரிக்கிறார்.  சங்கீதம் 141:3 சொல்லுகிறது, "கர்த்தாவே, என் வாய்க்குக் காவல் வையும்; என் உதடுகளின் வாசலைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளும்."
