22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22, 23

Today we are trying to be good people, working hard to be good with everyone, but we often fail. The Bible tells us that there is always a struggle within us between our flesh and spirit. Flesh tries to do evil, where as  the spirit tries to do good.  If our spirit  continuously has fellowship with Jesus, we can overcome our flesh (evil thoughts and desires) and walk in the spirit. Jesus said that, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." When we abide in Him, we can bear fruit, such as "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control" mentioned in today's verse.  Abiding simply means having a constant fellowship with Him.  Let us say with the Psalmist, "Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all day."

He who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. 1 John 5:18. Apostle John declares that everyone who believes that Jesus is Christ has been born of God, making them a child of God. For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 1 Peter 2:19. Apostle Peter is saying that when we face the worst in life, like unfair criticism, that's when we need to focus on God and the grace He gave us through Jesus. In life, we often bring suffering on ourselves through our own actions. Sometimes what we call "suffering for Jesus" is really the result of our own selfishness or carelessness.  Peter reminds us that there’s no reward for suffering caused by our own mistakes. This is an encouraging promise for us today: how God goes before us, making all our paths clear and removing all the obstacles that get in our way. The life ahead of us is not always smooth; it is crooked, hard, and difficult. With our wisdom and strength, we cannot move forward.
