"Be the head, not the tail."
God promises that if the people of Israel remain obedient to the law, they will be leaders among nations, not followers—they will be the head. But if they choose to turn their backs on God’s law, they will be followers, not leaders—they will be the tail. We see the fulfillment of this blessing when Israel became a world leader under the reigns of David and Solomon. The curse was fulfilled when the nation of Israel was carried away into exile. Similarly, if we listen to and obey His commandments today, we will be the head and be blessed. God will lift us to stand in high 'places. However, if we do not obey His voice, we will be the tail, losing all blessings. It is our choice whether we want to be the head or the tail. Habakkuk 3:19 says, "The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills."
