"God's word is sweeter than honey"

How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103.

In today's verse, the word of God is described as "sweeter than honey." By comparing God's word to honey, David is saying it is a delightful and satisfying food for his soul, and ours. It is pleasurable and enjoyable. He is nourished by it, feeling refreshed and satisfied. Honey is referenced many times in the word of God as a sign of provision and prosperity.  The Israelites were provided with manna as food, in the wilderness that "tasted like wafers made with honey." The Lord, in His kindness, even provided honey from a rock (Deuteronomy 32:13)! Are we meditating on the word of God as we would taste honey? Just as honey is sweet and beneficial for our physical health, meditating on the word of God and following its teachings can nourish and strengthen our inner being. Proverbs 24:14 says, "Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off."

உம்முடைய வார்த்தைகள் என் நாவுக்கு எவ்வளவு இனிமையானவைகள்; என் வாய்க்கு அவைகள் தேனிலும் மதுரமாயிருக்கும். சங்கீதம் 119:103.

இன்றைய வசனத்தில், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை "தேனிலும் இனிமையானது" என்று விவரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை தேனோடு ஒப்பிடுவதன் மூலம், தாவீது தனது ஆத்துமாவுக்கும் நமக்கும் ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சியான மற்றும் திருப்திகரமான உணவு என்று கூறுகிறார். இது மகிழ்ச்சிகரமானது மற்றும் ரசிக்கக்கூடியது. அவர் அதன் மூலம் ஊட்டச்சத்துப்  பெற்று,புத்துணர்ச்சியும் திருப்தியும் அடைகிறான். தேவனின் வார்த்தையில் தேன் பல முறை வளம் மற்றும் செழிப்புக்கான அடையாளமாக குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.  இஸ்ரவேலருக்கு வனாந்தரத்தில் உணவாகக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட மன்னா 'தேனில் செய்த பணிகாரத்தைப் போல் சுவையுள்ளதாயிருந்தது.' கர்த்தர் தமது கிருபையினால் கன்மலையிலிருந்து தேனையும் அருளினார் (உபாகமம் 32:13)! நாம் தேனை ருசிப்பது போல தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை தியானிக்கிறோமா? தேன் இனிப்பாகவும் நம் உடல் ஆரோக்கியத்திற்கு நன்மை பயப்பதாகவும் இருப்பதைப் போலவே, தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையை தியானிப்பதும் அதன் போதனைகளைப் பின்பற்றுவதும், நம் உள்ளான மனிதனைப் பலப்படுத்தும். நீதிமொழிகள் 24:14 கூறுகிறது, "அப்படியே ஞானத்தை அறிந்துகொள்வது உன் ஆத்துமாவுக்கு இன்பமாயிருக்கும்; அதைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டால், அது முடிவில் உதவும், உன் நம்பிக்கை வீண்போகாது.”
