Blog # Y2 002 - "Choose God's Will Over the World"

And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:17.

There is a clear contrast between the two statements in this verse. Those who follow God's will live forever, while those who chase temporary worldly things will lose their life. The believers who please the world will lose their reward. The choice before us is whether to do God's will or satisfy our fleshly desires. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are called to follow His words and live with the mind of Christ, striving to do His will. However, if after receiving salvation we fall into worldly temptations—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—we will not enter into heaven. Many of us desire to do God's will, but are not willing to sacrifice what is necessary to please Him. Are you willing to sacrifice worldly desires in order to follow God's will and receive eternal life? Romans 12:2 says: "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

உலகமும் அதின் இச்சையும் ஒழிந்துபோம்; தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படி செய்கிறவனோ என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருப்பான். 1 யோவான் 2:17.

இந்த வசனத்தில் உள்ள இரண்டு கூற்றுகளுக்கும் இடையே தெளிவான வேறுபாடு உள்ளது. தேவனைப் பின்பற்றுபவர்கள் என்றென்றும் வாழ்வார்கள், தற்காலிக உலகப் பொருட்களை  நாடி ஓடுபவர்கள்  தங்கள் வாழ்க்கையை இழப்பார்கள். உலகத்தைப் பிரியப்படுத்தும் விசுவாசிகள் தங்கள் பிரதிபலனை இழப்பார்கள். தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்வதா அல்லது நம்முடைய மாம்ச இச்சைகளைத்  திருப்தி செய்வதா என்பதே நாம் தெரிவு செய்யவேண்டிய முக்கியமான காரியம். இயேசுவை நமது இரட்சகராக நாம் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்போது, அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளைப் பின்பற்றவும், கிறிஸ்துவின் சிந்தையுடன் வாழவும், அவருடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்ய முயற்சிக்கவும் நாம் அழைக்கப்படுகிறோம். இருப்பினும், இரட்சிப்பைப் பெற்ற பிறகு, மாம்சத்தின் இச்சை, கண்களின் இச்சை, ஜீவனத்தின் பெருமை ஆகிய உலகப்பிரகாரமான சோதனைகளில் விழுந்தால், நாம் பரலோகத்தில் பிரவேசிக்க மாட்டோம். நம்மில் அநேகர் தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்ய விரும்புகிறோம், ஆனால் அவரைப் பிரியப்படுத்த தேவையானதை தியாகம் செய்ய தயாராக இல்லை. தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தைப் பின்பற்றி நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெறுவதற்காக உலக ஆசைகளை தியாகம் செய்ய நீங்கள் ஆயத்தமாக  இருக்கிறீர்களா?  ரோமர் 12:2 சொல்லுகிறது: “நீங்கள் இந்தப் பிரபஞ்சத்திற்கு ஒத்த வேஷந்தரியாமல், தேவனுடைய நன்மையும் பிரியமும் பரிபூரணமுமான சித்தம் இன்னதென்று பகுத்தறியத்தக்கதாக, உங்கள் மனம் புதிதாகிறதினாலே மறுரூபமாகுங்கள்.”
