"Blog Y2 069 - Focus on the eternal, not temporary."

Image
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:17. Apostle John reminds us that this world is temporary, and we must focus on what lasts beyond our earthly journey. The fleeting pleasures, fame, and pursuits of this world are short-lived, while the things of God are pure, eternal, and unchanging. His promises endure through all generations, and His love never fails. Let us wisely invest our lives by seeking His kingdom and righteousness, avoiding the cravings and distractions that can lead us astray. Doing God's will involves recognizing what truly brings lasting joy and fulfillment. Are we focusing on the eternal things of God, or are we getting distracted by the fleeting pleasures and pursuits of this temporary world? How can you create more space in your daily life for what is eternal? 2 Corinthians 4:18 says: “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things whi

"Blog Y2 068 - Hate evil and embrace God's love."

You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalm 97:10. Today's verse reminds us that those who love God must hate evil. The reason for this is that God protects the lives of the faithful and delivers them from the hands of the wicked. We are called to hate all evil in every form and to flee from it. Our hearts should break for those bound by evil, and we should fill our hearts with God’s love. We are to love what God loves and hate what God hates. God loves people but hates evil and sin. When we follow this principle, our hearts will be filled with God’s love and peace instead of fear and death. Jesus died to remove all sin and evil from the lives of everyone. Let us be courageous in opposing Satan and his works. Are you aligning your heart with God's love and hating what He hates? 3 John 1:11 says: "Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who

He will bless those who fear the Lord, Both small and great. Psalm 115:13 . God's blessing is for those who fear the Lord – those who love and reverence their heavenly Father. This blessing is for both small and great alike; the only qualification is a godly fear of the Lord. With such assurance, those who fear the Lord can face whatever the future brings. All we have to do is give Him our highest praise and worship, no matter the circumstances, knowing that He fulfills His promises. The love of God is unbelievable, amazing, and unconditional. He is the God who created the universe and the most important Father we could ever have. He assures us through His Word. Remember, there are billions of human beings in the world, yet God is conscious of those who fear Him. For Him to say He is aware of us and cares for us is the best news we could ever hear in our lives. Do you have the qualification for receiving God's blessing according to this passage?  Proverbs 19:23 says: ”The fea

"Blog Y2 066 - True friendship brings joy and renewal."

Image
Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel. Proverbs 27:9. King Solomon compares the pleasing aroma of oil and incense to the joy and refreshment that wise counsel from a trusted friend brings. We see this kind of friendship in Scripture, like David and Jonathan’s bond or Mary of Bethany anointing Jesus with fragrant oil—a loving act that filled the house with its sweet scent and brought joy to Jesus. In the same way, a true Christian friend provides gentle encouragement, wise guidance, and correction with kindness, becoming a source of joy and spiritual renewal. Let’s strive to bring this uplifting “aroma of Christ” to others, showing love, care, and even sacrifice in our friendships. Are you offering wise counsel and Christlike love to your friends? John 15:13 says: "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends." பரிமளதைலமும் சுகந்ததூபமும் இருதயத்தைக் களிப்பாக்குவதுபோல, ஒருவ

Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the God of Jacob, Who turned the rock into a pool of water, The flint into a fountain of waters. Psalm 114:7,8. This scripture calls on the earth, or its people, to tremble at the presence of the Lord, the God of Jacob, who performed miracles for the Israelites in the wilderness. Why should we tremble before Him? God is indeed loving and forgiving, yet He is also holy and just, calling His children to holiness. Without Jesus' sacrifice, none of us could stand before God without being judged for sin. Believers are to approach God with humility and repentance, recognizing His supreme authority over all creation and acknowledging that, without His mercy, we deserve only judgment. True reverence for God includes trembling at His power and turning from sin, allowing Jesus to cleanse us and fill us with the Holy Spirit to live righteously. Are you approaching God with true reverence and humility?   As Psalm 2:11 says: &q

"Blog Y2 064 - Listen carefully to God's guidance."

Image
Do not be rash with your mouth, And let not your heart utter anything hastily before God. For God is in heaven, and you on earth; Therefore let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2. King Solomon gives us wise guidance on interacting with God. We should avoid speaking thoughtlessly, harshly, or impulsively, and instead choose our words carefully and wisely. It’s essential to listen to what God is saying to us. When we speak, we cannot listen; we are telling God what we think. While there is a time and place for that, listening is even more important. There are many ways to listen to God, but the best way He speaks to us is through the Bible. So, we should listen to Him by quietly meditating on His Word. The more we listen to Him, the fewer words we’ll need. As we immerse ourselves in Scripture, His words will challenge, grow, correct, and encourage us. Are you listening to God's voice rather than speaking more? Proverbs 10:19 says: "In the multitude of words, sin is not lacking

"Blog Y2 063 - Rejoice and Magnify the Lord."

Image
Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let such as love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!” Psalm 40:16. Today's verse encourages everyone who seeks the Lord to rejoice and be glad in Him. God's love, truth, and salvation give us every reason to celebrate and worship our Creator. Our mission is to show that God is most glorified in us when we find our deepest satisfaction in Him. Rejoicing in the Lord means choosing joy even in hard times, which reveals the depth of our relationship with Him. King David urged people to focus on God's goodness and rejoice. God is honored when we are satisfied with Him. He is magnified when our relationship with Him is deep, our love for others is wide, and our trust in Him is high. Will you choose to rejoice in the Lord and magnify Him, even in difficult times? 1 Chronicles 16:10 says: “Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD!” உம்மைத் தேடுகிற அனைவரும் உமக்குள் மகிழ்ந்து

"Blog Y2 062 - Align your life with God's will."

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. Proverbs 21:2. When God created mankind, He gave us something very unique: free wil l . This allowed us to make our own choices according to our will. It was through this free will that humanity first sinned against God in the Garden of Eden. Today, we often rely on our own judgment, thinking our way is right. Yet, the Bible reminds us that when we act according to our own understanding, we may not realize if we are doing right or wrong. Only God truly examines our hearts and knows the innermost details of our thoughts—whether they are good or evil. When we align our actions with God’s Word and listen to His voice, we walk in His ways and receive His blessings.  Therefore, we should ask God to search our hearts, purify our motives, and guide us. Are you living a life aligned with God’s ways? Proverbs 3:7 says: “Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.” மனுஷனுடைய வழியெல்லாம் அவன் ப

"Blog Y2 061 - Finding Joy in God's Word"

Blessed is the man, ……… his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1,2 This scripture says that a child of God will delight in the word of God by meditating on it day and night. The Hebrew word for “delight” means “extreme pleasure, satisfaction, or joy.” Reading, studying, and applying God’s truth is a source of joy for the righteous. To delight in God’s word means to love it deeply, to hunger and thirst for Him. We delight in His word because we know it has the power to sustain us with joy through times of despair. It brings hope, comfort, protection, and victory over sin and leads us to eternal life. Do you delight in God's word by meditating on it day and night? Joshua 1:8 says: "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.&qu

"Blog Y2 060 - Love that goes beyond Nature"

Image
Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44. In this scripture, Jesus challenges us to a love that goes beyond our natural reactions—an unnatural love that calls us to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who mistreat us. This doesn’t mean ignoring the hurt or excusing wrongs, but rather choosing forgiveness and trusting God with our pain. Each time we respond with kindness instead of bitterness, we reflect Christ’s love and open a path to healing. Today, let us commit to this love, asking God to soften our hearts and help us bring His grace to a world in need.  Apostle Peter reminds us to live out our calling in I Peter 3:9: “Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” உங்கள் சத்துருக்களைச் சிநேகியுங்கள்; உங்களைச்

By You I have been upheld from birth; You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb. My praise shall be continually of You. Psalm 71:6. In this verse, King David reflects on God’s care for us from birth, encouraging us to live in devotion to Him from a young age. If God has shown us mercy even before we could serve Him, we should make the most of the time we have now to serve Him. In moments of struggle, the psalmist remembers a lifetime of relying on God, recognizing His support from the very start. He says, “My praise shall be continually of you,” showing that praising God is the natural response to His unfailing grace. Just as trust in God has been constant for the psalmist, we too should trust and praise Him always. Whether in moments of joy or trial, we are encouraged to trust that He who began this journey with us will never leave our side. Today, let’s praise God for His steadfast love, recognizing that the same hands that brought us into this world will carry us through every

"Blog Y2 058 - Walking Humbly in God’s Wisdom"

Image
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. Proverbs 15:33. This verse describes the concept of fearing God, which involves accepting His wisdom and teachings and cultivating a good relationship with Him. The fear of the Lord is an honor to Him and His power, a deep respect for His commandments and laws, and a reverent regard for His discipline. Humility means setting aside our own thoughts and opinions to be taught by God. It is the ability to accept correction, confess our faults, and change our ways based on God’s guidance. It requires the discipline to remain silent, avoid conflicts, and forgive others for their offenses against us. Do you fear God and humble yourself so that He may lift you up? "Blog Y2 057 - Shine His Light in Your Life."

Image
“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12 Here in this scripture, Jesus calls Himself the light of the world. In this, Jesus reveals Himself as the ultimate source of spiritual light and truth. His light shines in the spiritual darkness, and neither darkness nor evil can quench the light of His love. For God is the light of lights, and there is absolutely no darkness in Him. He is the shining light that alone enlightens the darkened soul of man. He gives His light to all people coming into the world and speaks the light of life to whoever believes in Him for salvation. We’re called to walk in His light. Walking in the light also means actively seeking Him daily—through prayer, reading His Word, and aligning our lives with His teachings. As we grow closer to Him, His light within us grows brighter, and we, too, become beacons to others. Just as Jesus is the Light of the world, He calls us to shine His light in our

"Blog Y2 056 - Embrace Mercy and Truth for Cleansing."

Image
In mercy and truth, atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil. Proverbs 16:6. This verse explains that the combination of God’s mercy and truth working together removes iniquity. Iniquity refers to wickedness, sin, and moral corruption. It emphasizes that only through the combination of God’s mercy and truth can our sins be cleansed and forgiven. This is highlighted in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who, through His death and resurrection, provided the ultimate expression of God’s mercy and truth, thereby removing humanity’s sin and iniquity. The second part of the verse states, "and by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil."  Here, the fear of the Lord enables people to turn away from evil. This fear motivates believers to resist temptation, turn from sin, and live in obedience to God’s commands. It is the fear of the Lord that leads to a transformed heart and a desire to live a life pleasing to God. Do you walk in th

"Blog Y2 055 - Pursue righteousness with spiritual hunger."

Image
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6. In this verse, Jesus refers to a spiritual hunger and thirst for righteousness. Righteousness means living in the right relationship with God and with others. We act with righteousness when we live justly, honestly, and faithfully according to God's word. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. We need to pursue righteousness. If we are hungry and thirsty for God, we will spend more time meditating on His word. We will also spend more time singing, praising, and praying to Him. Our hunger for God will compel us to do something to fulfill that need. God will bless us when we seek His righteousness. Will you actively pursue the righteousness of God in your life?  Matthew 6:33 says: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” நீதியின்மேல் பசிதாகமுள்ளவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் திருப்தியடை

"Blog Y2 054 - Seek God's Light and Walk in Faith"

Image
For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. Psalm 36:9. King David praised God as He is both the fountain of life; and the source of true light. As the fountain of living waters, He gives joy to those who trust in Him. God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. Jesus Christ is the Light of the World.  Like David, we are called to seek God's light, follow His path, and walk in faith. The Gospel of John shows that Jesus came to give life and light to all who believe in Him.  He is the life giver and He is the one who can enlighten our darkness.  He wants us to walk in His light. Are you truly seeking God’s light and walking in His path, as David did? John 8:12 says: "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." ஜீவஊற்று உம்மிடத்தில் இருக்கிறது; உம்முடைய வெளிச்சத்திலே வெளிச்சம் காண்கிறோம். சங்கீதம் 36:9. தாவீது ராஜா தேவனை ஜீவ ஊற்று மற்றும் உண்மையான

"Blog Y2 053 - Walking with God toward perfection"

Image
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48. Jesus teaches that God's standard of righteousness is complete and flawless: we must aim to be perfect, just as our heavenly Father is perfect. He doesn’t expect us to be perfect in the sense that we never sin. He knows we sin and has made provision for that through Jesus’ high priestly work. God's eternal plan for humanity is designed in such a way that we are unable to obey His commands in our own strength, but He allows us to attempt to reach perfection. He knows our fleshly efforts will ultimately end in failure! In Genesis 6:9 , the Bible describes Noah as "A just man, perfect in his generations." Noah walked with God. Like Noah, walking with God and faithfully following His words will lead us toward perfection. Do you strive to walk with God toward perfection, like Noah? 2 Samuel 22:31 says: "As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shiel

"Blog Y2 052 - Living by God's Word daily"

Image
Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22. Apostle James emphasizes the need to act on what we hear. He warns that we deceive ourselves if we think we can be hearers only and not doers of the Word. Those who sincerely love God are the ones who keep His commands. God desires that those who hear His Word become authentic followers of Jesus—disciples who obey the Lord’s teachings out of love for their Heavenly Father. Jesus also gave a stern warning to those who hear God's words but fail to act on them in Matthew 7:21,  "Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven."  As faith without works is dead, merely hearing God's Word without putting it into practice also deadens our spiritual life. The cleansing and justifying power of God's Word is experienced only when we live according to it. Are you living as both a hearer and doer of God's Word

"Blog Y2 051 - Humbly trust God to lift you up"

Image
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10. Apostle James reminds us to humble ourselves before God's face, and He will lift us up in His time. Humbleness and humility both refer to the quality of being modest. In the Bible, humility is presented as the practice of meekness, obedience to God, self-respect, respect for others, submissiveness, and modesty. This verse is a call to action for us to humble ourselves before God and to approach Him reverently. Paul described Jesus’s life on earth in Philippians 2:8,9: He became a servant, even unto death, and the Father exalted Jesus to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name. Most of the time, we expect to be recognized and glorified, and we feel disappointed when things don’t go our way. However, God asks us to abandon the world's way of pursuing recognition and glory. Instead, He calls us to trust Him to exalt us at the right time without seeking that glory for ourselve

"Blog Y2 050 - Crave for the Pure Spiritual Word"

Image
As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow.  1 Peter 2:2. Apostle Peter says that we must grow in our salvation. Babies grow by drinking milk, which provides all the nourishment their bodies need in the early months of life. But it has to be good milk. Using this as an illustration, Peter refers to the "pure spiritual milk" of God's Word. We must learn to crave the undiluted Word of God, just as a newborn craves milk. By drinking this spiritual milk—taking in God's Word and drawing close to Christ—we will continue to grow in our salvation. Our growth should produce fruit and help others grow and bear fruit as well. How is your spiritual growth? Are you thirsty for the Word of God? Colossians 2:6,7 says: “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,  rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” நீங்கள் வளரும்படி, புதிதாய்ப் பிறந்த குழந்தைகளைப்ப

Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! Psalm 31:19. In this Psalm, King David praises God for His goodness and abundant blessings stored up for those who fear and trust Him. God’s goodness reflects His generosity, extending far beyond anything we can imagine, demonstrating His infinitely generous attitude toward us. The psalmist declares that the Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. By nature, God desires to bring joy and blessings to all His creation. His eternal storehouse overflows into the lives of those who love Him.  The Lord is good and upright. He knows His own—those who believe in His gift of salvation, trust His unconditional love, honor His holy name, and take refuge in His mighty protection. For those who believe, He has prepared grace upon grace and blessing upon blessing, securing them in Christ forever. We can exper

For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 1 Peter 2:19. Apostle Peter is saying that when we face the worst in life, like unfair criticism, that's when we need to focus on God and the grace He gave us through Jesus. In life, we often bring suffering on ourselves through our own actions. Sometimes what we call "suffering for Jesus" is really the result of our own selfishness or carelessness.  Peter reminds us that there’s no reward for suffering caused by our own mistakes. Jesus didn’t sin or deceive; He only suffered for doing what was right. We should follow His example, being righteous, thoughtful, and careful in all we do. That way, if we suffer, it will truly be for the Lord.  Do you focus on God’s grace when facing unfair criticism? 1 Peter 3:14,15 says: “ But even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. But sanctify the Lord God

"Blog Y2 047 - Righteous Efforts Lead to Life."

Image
The labor of the righteous leads to life, The wages of the wicked to sin. Proverbs 10:16. The world has both righteous and wicked men. The efforts of a righteous man lead to godliness and life, while the efforts of a wicked man lead to sin and death. Honest labor brings its own reward through the blessing of God, resulting in a long and peaceful life. The goal of a good person's work is to live honestly without resorting to sinful actions. As a result, their hard work preserves their life and helps them pursue eternal life. On the other hand, the efforts of wicked people lead them into sin. Their labor fuels their pride, luxury, and focus on worldly things, often leading to early death and, without repentance, eternal death. What kind of life are you living—righteous or wicked? The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. Exodus 14:14. This is a powerful declaration of God's faithfulness and protection. The verse from Exodus tells the story of the Israelites trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army. They were filled with fear, but Moses reassured them that God would fight for them. The verse highlights God's protection and provision, showing that even in impossible situations, we can trust Him to defend and deliver us. The Israelites, recently freed from slavery, faced the Red Sea as Pharaoh pursued them. When they felt helpless, God promised through Moses to fight on their behalf, reminding them to trust in Him during overwhelming challenges. Similarly, today, God is reminding us to trust Him. Do you trust God's faithfulness and protection in overwhelming situations, as the Israelites did? Deuteronomy 1:30 says: “The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you, according to all He did for you in Egypt befor

Through You we will push down our enemies; Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us. Psalm 44:5. The verse highlights the theme of faith and reliance on God's strength. Despite their distress, the Israelites continue to affirm their trust in God's power and His sovereignty over their enemies. It is a declaration of their faith in God's ability to deliver them from their troubles and grant them victory. We see God's protection, power, and victory over everything. We know how David killed Goliath in the name of the Lord. The psalmist says that we shall tread upon the lion and the cobra; the young lion and the serpent we shall trample underfoot with God’s authority. In the same way, we can push down our adversaries and trample the enemy who rises up against us. Will you trust in God's strength to help you overcome your adversaries and grant you victory? Psalm 60:12 says: “Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our en

Who remembered us in our lowly state, For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:23. This psalm is a hymn of thanksgiving for God's enduring love and constant presence. The repetition of the phrase "for His mercy endures forever" at the end of each verse in this psalm serves as a reminder of God's unconditional love and care for us. Today's verse speaks about God's faithfulness and unchanging nature, as well as the hope and reassurance that His mercy is always available to those in need. The phrase "in our lowly state" conveys the idea of being in a state of poverty, oppression, or helplessness. It reminds us that God remembers us in our weakness and suffering, and He extends His mercy toward us. In this world, we sometimes feel all alone, but He is with us in our lowly state. Are you trusting in God's mercy and presence during times of weakness or loneliness? Lamentations 3:22-23 says: “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because H

If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small. Proverbs 24:10. We all face difficulties, but what kind of person are we in those times of trouble? King Solomon tells us that if we falter or fall apart in times of adversity, it shows that we weren’t very strong to begin with. Adversity is a normal part of life. We should not crumble under pressure. Apostle Paul encouraged the church in Galatia not to grow weary in doing what God had called them to do. We need to remember that we are never called to fight these battles alone or rely solely on our own strength. Our strength comes from the Lord.  We cannot stand against the enemy of our soul in our own power, only in God’s strength. How do you respond in times of adversity, relying on your strength or trusting in the Lord's power? "Blog Y2 042 - Good News Refreshes the Weary Soul"

Image
As cold water to a weary soul, So is good news from a far country. Proverbs 25:25. In life’s difficult moments, we often find ourselves weary, thirsty for hope, and longing for relief. This verse highlights the importance of timely encouragement. King Solomon compares good news to a refreshing cup of cold water given to a weary soul who has been working hard, worn out, and very thirsty. In the broader context, Solomon had previously taught that a trustworthy messenger brings refreshment to his master, but in this verse, the focus moves to the importance of the message itself. What good news can you share today to lift someone's spirit and bring encouragement? The Bible says that a good report makes the bones healthy. Good news is a powerful gift. When was the last time you encouraged a distant friend? Even the smallest encouragement can be like cold water to a soul in need.  Proverbs 16:24 says: “Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.”
