Blog # Y2 003 - "Listen Quickly, Speak and Anger Slowly"

Image
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. James 1:19. Apostle James instructed the followers of Christ to focus on three key commands:  Be swift to hear,  Slow to speak, Slow to wrath.  First:  "Be swift to hear" means being quick to listen. We often rush to do things that don’t matter, but if we listen to God's voice, we’ll move in the right direction, where He wants us to be.  Second:  "Slow to speak" means to talk less. Before speaking, we should slow down, wait, and think about our words.  Third:  "Slow to wrath" means calm down. Anger is an emotion that must be controlled.  If we’re quick to listen, we’ll be slow to speak. But if we’re slow to listen, we’ll likely be quick to speak, and quick speaking often leads to quick anger. The angrier we get, the faster we speak and the less we hear. We must ask God for help to control our anger. When we focus on God and abide in Him, we can overcome. Are you

Image
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:17. There is a clear contrast between the two statements in this verse. Those who follow God's will live forever, while those who chase temporary worldly things will lose their life. The believers who please the world will lose their reward. The choice before us is whether to do God's will or satisfy our fleshly desires. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are called to follow His words and live with the mind of Christ, striving to do His will. However, if after receiving salvation we fall into worldly temptations—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—we will not enter into heaven. Many of us desire to do God's will, but are not willing to sacrifice what is necessary to please Him. Are you willing to sacrifice worldly desires in order to follow God's will and receive eternal life? Romans 12:2 says: "And do not be conformed to

Image
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 106:1. We truly praise the Lord when we give Him thanks for what we have received from Him. Gratitude toward the Lord is an attitude of the heart that deepens our intimate relationship with God. Being thankful to God is an act of worship. King David says: “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1). The Apostle Paul encourages us to always thank the Lord for the grace of God given to us in Christ Jesus. Let us never be slow to return our praises to the Lord. He is worthy to be praised. Even when we are unfaithful, God remains faithful to His covenant, consistently showing us grace, mercy, and kindness. Are you deepening your relationship with God by giving Him thanks and praise for all He has done?   1 Thessalonians 5:18 says: “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” அல்லேலூயா, கர்த்தரைத் துதியுங்கள்; அவர் நல்ல

Blog # 365 - "Trusting in God's Compassion and Care"

Image
For the Lord hears the poor, And does not despise His prisoners. Psalm 69:33. This scripture describes the nature of our God as a compassionate God who cares for the poor and the oppressed. In this verse, the "poor" represent those who are economically and socially in need, while the "prisoners" symbolize those who are physically or emotionally captive. The Psalms frequently mention God’s concern for the suffering people in the world. Despite his suffering and rejection, King David maintains faith that God is not indifferent to his pain. He trusts in God's righteous character and finds comfort during hardship. This reminds us that God’s love and care reach everyone, especially those who are vulnerable and in need. It encourages us to trust in God’s compassion and to seek His help in times of trouble. Are you calling out to God or to man when you are in trouble? Psalm 22:24 says: "For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Nor h

Blog # 364 - "Choose righteousness for eternal life."

Image
In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death. Proverbs 12:28. This verse uses life and death as symbols. Life represents abundance, vitality, and blessings, while death symbolizes spiritual and moral decay. It suggests that following the path of righteousness leads to a life filled with good things, while straying from it results in spiritual death and separation from God. By choosing righteousness, one can enjoy a fulfilling life and avoid the spiritual and ethical downfall that comes from turning away from God. A life of righteousness is pleasing to God and brings about blessings and abundance. There is no death in the path of the righteous. King Solomon states that the righteous attain life, but whoever pursues evil finds death. What is your choice—righteous life or sinful life?  Romans 6:23 says: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” நீதியின் பாதையில் ஜீவன் உண்டு; அந்தப் பாதையில் மரணம் இல்லை. நீ

Blog # 363 - "Generosity leads to true prosperity."

Image
The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. Proverbs 11:25. The first part of this scripture says that those who are generous will be made rich or prosperous. In the Bible, prosperity has a lot to do with well-being and flourishing, enjoying the fullness of life as God intends for us. If we want to experience an abundant life, we must be generous. The second part says that he who waters will also be watered himself. Watering takes place in the form of doing a good deed to help others. God has instilled within us gifts of skills and talents to help those around us. We must extend one hand open to God to receive His blessings and extend the other hand to those who are in need. Do you embrace generosity by helping others with the gifts and talents God has given you?  Luke 6:38 says: "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you

Blog # 362 - "Trust in persistent prayer and patience"

And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Luke 18:7. This verse is a parable of Jesus telling His disciples about the persistent widow. In the parable, Jesus describes a widow who seeks justice. At first, the judge refuses to help her, but the widow persistently pleads for justice. Eventually, the judge grants her request, not because he cares about justice, but because he is worn down by her continual pleas. Jesus uses this parable to teach His disciples about the importance of patience, persistent prayer, and faith in God's justice. In the same way, Jesus is telling us today that we should wait patiently with faith in prayer, trusting that we will receive a miracle from Him without losing hope. Are you practicing patience and persistent prayer, trusting that God will bring justice and miracles in His timing? Romans 12:12 says: “Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.” அந்தப்படியே

Blog # 361 - "Celebrate victories through worship and praise"

I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High. Psalm 7:17. This scripture says how King David gives praises to the God of righteousness and to the name of the Lord Most High. This verse encourages us to praise and worship the Lord for His righteousness and His sovereignty. David is praising God’s name as “ God Most High.” We first see "God Most High," which in Hebrew is “ El Elyon ” ; in Genesis 14:18, Melchizedek is identified as "priest of God Most High." This name occurs multiple times in the Psalms. It identifies God as the supreme, exalted sovereign in heaven. We must celebrate all the victories over our trials and tribulations through worship and praise. He is the great king over all the earth. Are you celebrating your victories through worship and praise? Blog # 360 - "Enemies flee when prayers rise"

Image
The Lord has heard my supplication; The Lord will receive my prayer. Let all my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled; Let them turn back and be ashamed suddenly. Psalm 6:9-10. Today, we witness the power of prayer and how the enemy trembles and flees from the children of God when they pray. This verse illustrates how King David prayed to God with faith, and God answered by defeating the enemies who came against him, putting them to shame before him. Similarly, in our lives, when we cry out to God, He will answer our supplications, and we will see our enemies flee from us. God will put to shame those who rise against us when we seek His face with great faith. Do you trust in the power of prayer, believing that God will answer your cries and cause your enemies to flee?   Psalm 50:15 says: “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” கர்த்தர் என் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்டார்; கர்த்தர் என் ஜெபத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுவார். என் பகைஞர் எல்லாரும் வெட்கி மிகவும்

Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding. Job 36:5. Today’s scripture speaks of how mighty our God is and of His strength and understanding. When trouble comes, we often focus more on the problem than on the mighty power of God , and we get discouraged easily. But God expects us to remember and praise Him, that He is all-powerful, strong, and mighty and praise Him. He has the power to control nature, the universe, and all of creation. He sent His only Son into the world to crush the enemy's head at the cross. King David could easily defeat the giant Goliath, revealing the power of God as greater than that of the enemy. We should always remember that our God is the Lord of Hosts, and who is victorious. When we have faith in God and His might, we will see miracles in our lives. Are you remembering to focus on God's mighty power and strength in times of trouble, trusting in His ability to bring victory and miracles into your life?   Ps

Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us. 2 Corinthians 1:10. The Apostle Paul praises God for His power that delivered His children from death and dangers in the past, continues to do so in the present, and will do so forever. God is all-powerful. He is omnipotent. He is our deliverer and redeemer. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When all human hope and help fail, He is there to assist when we call upon His name. There is no one else like Him to give us hope when all doors are closed. We need to be thankful to Him for the past miracles so that we can witness future ones. Even today, He is ready to help us if we place our trust in Him, especially in times of trouble. Do you trust in God's power to deliver and help you in times of trouble, just as He has done in the past? Psalm 18:2 says: "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield a

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 1:18. Today’s verse speaks about the fruit of righteousness. It is the peacemaker who sows seeds of peace to reap a harvest of righteousness. The Apostle James uses the word "peace" here to refer to the right relationships among people. He desires peace in the church and among believers, knowing that peace is the only environment in which righteousness can flourish. God loves peacemakers. The wisdom of this world produces trouble, while the wisdom from above produces peace among people. God-trusting, self-sacrificing heavenly wisdom is the source of peace, gentleness, mercy, and righteousness. Are you sowing seeds of peace to reap a harvest of righteousness? Image
For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, And Your truth unto the clouds. Psalm 57:10. King David praises and glorifies God in this verse for His boundless mercy and truth. He is filled with joy and inspired to praise with song and music. The first part describes God's mercy as "great above the heavens," flowing from His loving heart through His chosen people, sending Christ to die for them, giving new life, forgiving sins, and granting eternal life. The second part speaks of God's truth reaching unto the clouds. Just as clouds cover the sky, God’s truth covers all of life, leaving no room for doubt. This illustrates the power of God’s truth, providing His people with a solid foundation for trust. Are you praising God for His mercy and truth?  Psalm 103:11 says, "For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him." உமது கிருபை வானபரியந்தமும், உமது சத்தியம் மேகமண்டலங்கள்பரியந்தமும் எட்டுகிறது. சங்கீதம் 57:10. தாவீது

Blog # 355 - "Praise God for His Spiritual Blessings"

Image
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Ephesians 1:3. This verse explains why and how we should praise God for every spiritual blessing. We thank and praise God for sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and to grant us eternal life. Our loving Father is full of grace, kindness, forgiveness, redemption, salvation, freedom, wisdom, and understanding. Through Jesus Christ, His Son, He shares these riches with us. This is the spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Now, let us consider how to praise Him. After recognizing who He is, we should search our hearts and keep ourselves pure and clean before our Holy God. We must worship Him with all our heart, mind, and strength, offering joyful songs. He expects us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. How are you praising and worshipping God for His spiritual blessings in your life?  Psalm 29:2 says: “Give unto t

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. John 1:12. For in Christ Jesus, we are all children of God through faith. When we believe that Jesus came into this world, suffered, shed His blood, died on the cross, and rose again to redeem us from darkness, we become children of God. The nature of our relationship with Him is that He is our Father, and we are His children. This means we must learn to listen, obey, and love Him more and more. The Father speaks clearly to us through His Word. To maintain this relationship daily, we must please Him by examining ourselves, asking for forgiveness, and making things right with Him. Additionally, meditating on the Word of God and applying it in our lives will draw us closer to Him as His children. Are you living as a true child of God by listening, obeying, and loving Him more each day?  1 John 3:10 says: “In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manif

In Christ Jesus our Lord, we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Ephesians 3:12. This verse says that because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. Jesus Christ redeemed us with His blood, saving us and making us children of God. He has also given us the power and authority to approach His throne boldly, to receive mercy and help in our times of need. We can go to Jesus at any moment, in any place, and He answers our prayers. If we have sin or heaviness in our hearts, we should ask for forgiveness and approach His presence boldly. He loves and cares for us and expects us to depend on Him more. He helps us in our weaknesses. When we do not know what to pray, the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be expressed. Are you approaching God's presence boldly, trusting in the power and authority given through Christ? Hebrews 4:16 says: "Let us therefore come boldly to the

Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad. Proverbs 12:25. Scripture says that pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healthy to the bones. The good word is the Word of God , the source of gladness in the face of anxiety. An encouraging word can be a blessing that cheers the anxious, lifts the disappointed, and comforts the downhearted. There is power in the Word of God ; when we speak it to an anxious person or over a situation, changes happen. It brings joy into the lives of people. The tongue has the power of life and death; good people use it for health and life. Just as Jonathan, the son of King Saul, encouraged David when he was hiding in the woods, our goal should be to encourage and build up one another. Are you using your words to encourage and uplift others, bringing joy and comfort to those around you?   Ephesians 4:29 says: “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that

Blog # 351 - "Great blessings follow humble beginnings"

Image
Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly. Job 8:7. Today's verse reminds us that humble beginnings can lead to great blessings. In our time, many people start their lives with high expectations, but when things don't go as planned, they often fall into despair, and some even end their lives. Abraham is a prime example in the Bible of someone who started small, yet God made him into a great nation because he followed God's commandments patiently until the end. When we walk with God by faith, like Abraham, and patiently trust in Him, our ending will be better than our beginning in every aspect of life. If we trust in the Lord with all our hearts, focusing on Him instead of our circumstances, we will have a blessed future and receive eternal blessings. Are you patiently trusting in God, like Abraham, to lead you from humble beginnings to great blessings?   Ecclesiastes 7:8 says: "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning there

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1. King David, the psalmist, was a man after God's own heart. He wrote this psalm while in the wilderness of Judah, reflecting his deep personal thoughts on God and urging us to yearn for and seek Him. His use of 'My God' reveals a close relationship with the Lord. David seeks God early in the morning, pouring out his heart and expressing how his soul thirsts for Him in times of hopelessness. His life experience encourages us to call upon God in our own desperate situations. God desires us to seek, find, and know Him. Are you seeking God with the same deep longing and devotion as King David did in times of need? In Matthew 11:28 , Jesus says: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. தேவனே, நீர் என்னுடைய தேவன்; அதிகாலமே உம்மைத் தேடுகிறேன்; வறண்டதும் விடாய்த்ததும் தண்ணீரற்றதுமான நிலத்திலே

Today, we receive spiritual blessings—salvation through Jesus Christ, who sought us and bought us with His life. He expects us to abide in His Word and apply it in our lives.
