You crown the year with Your goodness,  and Your paths drip  with  abundance. Psalm 65:11 What a wonderful promise for us in this New Year! God crowns this New Year with His joy, peace, health, wealth, goodness, and mercies. Every day is a new opportunity for us as God grants us a life of abundance according to this promise. His acts of goodness include forgiveness, salvation, fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22,23) , gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8-10) , deliverance, healing, and protection. Blessed  be  the  Lord , f or He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! Psalm 31:21 King David was often attacked and even had enemies surrounding his city to starve it. But he remained positive, thanking God for His love and wonders. Similarly, in our lives, we face challenges often. When we dwell on the problems without praying, we will miss all the blessings that God has stored for us. Instead, if we focus on God and thanking Him for His marvelous kindness, counting our blessings as David did, we see God working miracles on us. Since you were precious in My sight,  You have been honored. Isaiah 43:4 This verse is a wonderful promise. God created everyone of us beautifully in His own image to praise Him.  But many hate and curse themselves when they go through trials and tribulations. Jesus came to this world to save us from all hatred and rejection by giving His own life on the cross to make us more precious. We need to be thankful to Him as we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Let no one who  waits on You be ashamed. Psalm 25:3 In our daily lives, waiting in various situations is often challenging. We tend to expect immediate results, and when things don't happen quickly, we may experience disappointment, anger, or restlessness. However, King David reassures us that when we wait on the Lord, we will never be put to shame. This implies the need to wait patiently, trusting in the Lord's timing, and offering praises and thanksgiving. If we patiently wait on God, He will answer us and accomplish great things in our lives in His perfect time. Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 4:7 In this world, people are seeking real peace. Today's verse emphasizes that the real peace, that the world cannot give, is found only through Christ Jesus, who is known as the Prince of Peace. When situations become overwhelming, our hearts and minds are the first to be affected. However, the peace that God provides has the power to safeguard our hearts and minds. To receive this peace from God, one must trust in Him. When we trust in Him, as the prophet Isaiah affirms, we receives  peace, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." The people who walked in darkness h ave seen a great light. Isaiah 9:2 In today’s verse, the prophet Isaiah prophesied about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, stating that the people who walked in darkness would see a great light. This world is full of darkness everywhere, with lies from the enemy surrounding us and speaking words of deceit into our lives. We need to be careful and prayerful to overcome the negative words that we hear every day; otherwise, they will destroy us. Let us allow " Jesus, the light of the world" to shine on us so that we can walk as children of light. Let us join Paul in thanking God, for "You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light." Isaiah 9:6 In today's verse, the prophet Isaiah predicted the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ many years ago and described who He is. His name is 'Wonderful' because He is a wonder-working God; 'Counsellor' as He counsels wisely with His wisdom; 'Mighty God' means He is all-powerful; 'Everlasting' means He lives forever; 'Prince of Peace' who gives us peace in every stormy situation. When we call upon His name, He is always there to save us. As we read in the Gospel of Luke, "Today in the city of David, a Savior has been born to you. The  Lord  has done great things for us,  And  we are glad. Psalm 126:3 It is amazing to see how life begins and ends on this earth.  But the life given is to be lived joyfully praising God for everything.  King David was so glad as he mentioned how to praise God in the previous verse of this chapter.  According to him, we must praise God with our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing the greatness of God. In today's verse, David says that we need to celebrate what God has done in our lives.  When we are in Christ Jesus, our hearts will be glad even in the midst of storms.  We will still be celebrating the victories of God in our lives.   Let us rejoice like Mary was rejoicing " For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name."   The wicked one shall no more pass through you;  He is utterly cut off. Nahum 1:15 Today’s verse says that God cares deeply for His people and will not let their oppressors suppress them. In everyday life people always criticize us and mock at us even for small things. Some of them will help us when we struggle but when we are blessed and doing good, they become envious. They try to pull us down. But the word of God says if we follow God and walk in His ways,  wicked people will never again march through us, but God will entirely wipe them out. He(God) sets on high those who are lowly,  and those who mourn are lifted to safety. Job 5:11 Today's verse says that God sets the lowly on high, and the mourners are lifted to safety. He protects the sorrowful and lifts up those who have been dishonored. Hannah, mother of prophet Samuel was brought low by people when she was a barren. But she called upon the Lord and God enabled her to give birth to Samuel. Then she praised God, " The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up."  Like Hannah, when we humble ourselves before the Lord, he will lift us high. God can comfort and protect the humble. Let us do exactly what the author of the book of James says , "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." Later, God reaffirmed his promise, telling Abraham his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore and his descendants will possess the gates of their enemies. Today the same God wants to bless us when we obey His voice as Abraham did. King David faced various hardships and problems throughout his life. At times, when we encounter major challenges, we may feel exhausted and unable to move forward. Without trust in God, these problems can significantly weigh us down. However, when we call upon the name of the Lord for strength and power, He will revive us, deliver us, and extend His right hand to save us. Blessed   are   the peacemakers,  For they shall be called sons of God. This verse is one of the verses of the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus saying that, God blesses those who make peace, and they will be called His children. When we show kindness to those who try to destroy peace and make peace with them, we are rewarded with a title known as 'children of God.' It's not easy to make peace with someone who tries to destroy peace. The human tendency is to counter or cut off that relationship. However, it is possible to make peace when we pray for God's love and peace to fill our hearts. The term "Tabernacle" refers to the dwelling place of God. David expresses the desire of his heart to dwell in God's presence continually, where he could find strength, comfort, and protection. Similarly, if we have the desire to abide in God's presence, we too can receive His care, strength, and protection. In the Bible, wings are often used as a symbol of God's protective care.   He who touches you touches the  apple of His eye. Zechariah 2:8 This is a powerful promise of God for our protection. He protects us as the apple of His eye if we fear Him. The phrase 'the apple of one’s eye ' describes someone or something cherished, as precious and delicate as the pupil of the eye. God cares for us when we faithfully follow His Words and commandments. He is our shelter, fortress, shield, and refuge in times of trouble. “Glory to God in the highest,  and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” This is the wonderful news from heaven for all of humanity, praising and honoring God for the birth of Jesus. Jesus is seen as a source of peace, reconciling God and humanity. God promised peace to all, and through Christ, this peace reaches the whole world. By accepting Christ and trusting Him as Savior, people can experience the peace of God. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten   Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 This is an important verse in the Bible, summarizing the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus. God loved us so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Let  love  be  without hypocrisy. Romans 12:9 Love is the most expected and valuable commodity in this world. But true love is hard to find. People appear to be loving on the outside, whereas they might have the wrong attitude inside. God expects our love to be sincere. Only God's love is an unconditional and sincere love. When we are filled with God's love, we will be able to love others sincerely. This sincere love works in the same way even when we don't receive love from the other person. We realize the extent of this love when Jesus asks us to love even our enemies.
