Blog # 330 - "Saved by Grace, Not by Deeds"

Image
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5. It is the great truth that we are saved by His grace, not by our good deeds or righteousness. King David says that our Lord is gracious and our God is merciful. Salvation comes only from God and only through God's mercy. Salvation involves being spiritually cleansed and reborn as well as continually transformed and renewed by the Holy Spirit. Because of His mercy, all our sins were washed away, and we were born from above by the Spirit of Christ. Also, salvation is a free gift of grace from God to those who believe in Christ as Savior, believe that He died on the Cross to pay the price for our sins and to give us the eternal life. Can our righteousness save us?   Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” நாம் செய்த நீதியின் கிரியைகளினிம

Blog # 329 - "Hope in Christ Never Disappoints Us"

Image
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5. In life, we might face disappointments that could lead to feelings of shame or disgust, especially if we place our hopes in things of this world. However, the hope we have in Christ will never let us down or make us feel ashamed, no matter what challenges we face. The love of God was poured out in great measure when we first believed, and it grows deeper into our hearts when we meditate His word daily. This love is constantly renewed and strengthened by the Holy Spirit and give us the eternal hope in Christ. God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Do you find hope and assurance in Jesus Christ amidst life's disappointments and challenges?   Romans 15:13 says, "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit

Blog # 328 - "Rely on Jesus for protection"

Image
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Proverbs 30:5 . This verse speaks about the perfection and power of God's word. The Apostle John says, "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us." Jesus is the Word of God, perfect, blameless, and pure. He came into this world to save us and deliver us from a sinful life. He protects us when we trust in Him. He is the way, the truth, and the life. When we accept Him as our Savior, He transforms us and makes us perfect. If we read His word daily, listen to His voice, and obey Him, He will be our shield, fortress, strong tower, refuge, and shelter. He will protect us and keep us safe under His mighty arms. Today's verse affirms that God protects those who rely on Him. Do you trust in Jesus as your Savior and rely on Him for protection and guidance in your daily life? Psalm 18:30 says, "As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all wh

Blog # 327 - "Confidently Wait for the Lord's Timing"

Image
I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. Psalm 40:1. In this verse, King David waited upon the Lord without an immediate answer. He waited diligently and earnestly, patiently and perseveringly, until God was pleased to help him. God inclined to him and heard his cry. The word "inclined" conveys the sense of God bending down to David in his affliction, removing any perceived distance between the Lord and His servant. When David knew God heard his cry, he was confident of a favorable answer. In the same way, God inclines to us and hears our cry when we wait patiently for Him. We need to wait for His timing to see miracles happening in our lives. He acts in His own way and at His preferred time to develop our faith in His Word and to enlarge our trust in His unfailing goodness and grace. Are you waiting patiently for the Lord’s timing in your life? Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wa

Blog # 326 - "Compassion brings blessings and protection"

Image
Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. Psalm 41:1. This world is poverty-stricken. Millions suffer without basic necessities. Most of the time, such people are neglected, and their sufferings go unnoticed. People are busy with their own agendas, and no one has any time to care for someone outside their own family. In this juncture, this scripture comes as a strong reminder, saying, "Consider the poor." This scripture beautifully underscores the importance of compassion. It tells us that those who show kindness to the poor are blessed and that God promises to deliver them in times of trouble. This verse reminds us that caring for the less fortunate is not just a good deed but a divine calling that aligns us with God's heart. In considering the poor, we are called to look beyond ourselves and extend a hand of kindness and support. This act of generosity doesn't go unnoticed by God. It invites His blessing and protection into

Blog # 325 - "Wisdom Uplifts the Soul"

Image
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off. Proverbs 24:14. King Solomon compares the knowledge of wisdom to honey from a honeycomb in the prior verse. Just as honey provides pleasure and nourishment to the body, wisdom is uplifting and life-giving to the soul. The knowledge of wisdom is sweet to our soul; if we find it, there is a future hope for us, and our hope will not be cut off. “Wisdom will enter our hearts, and knowledge will delight our souls.” When we read, meditate on, and follow the word of God, our hope will not be cut off. Since wisdom is so important and valuable for the soul, how much effort do we put into finding and obtaining it? Do you read the word of God daily for its ability to give you wisdom and guidance for life? Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." அ

Blog # 324 - "Train children in God's ways"

Image
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6. This verse is foundational for raising our children in the faith. As parents, we all want our children to grow in wisdom, knowledge, fear of God, in the word of God, and to follow Jesus sincerely. We want them to learn good habits and be disciplined. We should know the abilities and limitations of each child and accordingly train them in the way they should grow. We should be role models for our children. More than from teaching, they learn from our behaviors. God has given us the responsibility to train them in the right way so that they will not depart from it when they are old. Develop habits such as self-control as appropriate to their age. Training children takes a lot of effort. Are you training your children in the ways of God? Ephesians 6:4 says, "And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."

Blog # 323 - ""Hunger and thirst for God's word"

Image
Blessed are You, O Lord! Teach me Your statutes. Psalm 119:12. Psalm 119 is a lengthy meditation addressed to God on the excellencies of His law. The law here refers not to legal requirements such as the law of Moses but to the whole of God’s instruction for humankind in general. Therefore, God’s law is also called His word, commandments, sayings, judgments, statutes, ordinances, instructions, precepts, testimonies, promises, ways, and paths. At least one of these words occurs in almost every verse of the psalm. In this verse, the psalmist praises and blesses the name of the Lord. He asks God to teach him the word of God, as his knowledge is lacking, and he needs wisdom from God. In the same way, we can also ask God to teach us His word. Do we have the hunger and thirst for the word of God? Psalm 25:5 says, "Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day." கர்த்தாவே, நீர் ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்பட்டவர்; உம்முடைய பிரமாணங்களை எனக்குப்

Blog # 322 - "Boldly approach God's throne for grace"

Image
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16. We are encouraged in this verse to come boldly to the throne of grace so that God can give us His mercy and His grace for whatever circumstances we are in. It is by His grace and through the death of Jesus Christ that the veil of the temple that separates man from God is torn in two from top to bottom, providing access to the presence of our heavenly Father. Through Christ, we have received the gracious invitation to come boldly to the throne of grace in times of need. We can have the confidence to boldly approach the throne of grace and ask God for His wisdom, mercy, and grace as we walk through our day. Do you have the expectant faith that God will answer your prayers according to His plan for your lives?  Ephesians 3:12 says, "In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him." ஆதலால், நாம் இரக்கத்தைப் பெறவும், ஏற்ற சம

Blog # 321 - "Love your enemies with Jesus' heart"

Image
Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44. Loving your enemies is a gift from God that helps us to experience His love for us in a deeper and more powerful way. When the situation arises of loving our enemies, we need to remember how Jesus loved us and gave His life for us. Jesus was a friend of sinners and loved his enemies. We need the power of forgiveness to love a person who has deeply hurt us and hated us. It is not easy to forgive and forget those who have spoken against us. However, when we allow the sacrificial love of Jesus to flow through us, we can love and bless them. Remember how Jesus prayed while He was hanging on the cross for the people who crucified Him, saying, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Are you able to forgive and forget past hurts? Will you pray for the love of Jesus to fill you? As John 13:34 says, "A

Blog # 320 - "Jesus helps us overcome temptation"

Image
For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. Hebrews 2:18. This verse speaks of Jesus' victory over temptation. Jesus experienced our humanity, suffering, and temptation while He was in this world. He knows our pain, sorrows, anxieties, trials, and tribulations. He has overcome death and conquered the grave. When we call on Him and share our problems, He understands and answers us. He is able to help those who are being tempted in all circumstances. He will help us whenever we need to overcome the temptations we face. By relying on His Word and allowing our minds to be transformed, we, too, can overcome temptation. Shall we rely on Jesus to help us overcome every temptation we face? Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” ஆதலால், அவர்தாமே சோதிக்கப்பட்டுப் பாடுபட்டதினாலே, அவர் சோதிக்கப்படுகி

Blog # 319 - "God elevates and restores the downtrodden"

Image
Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, And gather those who were driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame In every land where they were put to shame. Zephaniah 3:19. Here, the prophet Zephaniah prophesies about the day of restoration for the children of God. Today, this verse speaks to those who are afflicted and oppressed by evil ones, reminding us that our mighty God will fight the battle for us if we trust in Him. When we follow His commandments faithfully, He will save us, lift us up, and give us praise and honor in every place where we were put to shame. He is not only a God of restoration, but He is also a God of elevation, raising up those who are downtrodden. Shall we pray to God to lift us and use us wherever we are? 1 Samuel 2:8 says, "He raises the poor from the dust And lifts the beggar from the ash heap, To set them among princes And make them inherit the throne of glory." இதோ, அக்காலத்திலே உன்னைச் சிறுமைப்படு

Blog # 318 - "Hear God's voice, walk in wisdom"

Image
Hear, my son, and be wise; And guide your heart in the way. Proverbs 23:19. This verse talks about the instructions of a wise and loving father to his son. King Solomon mentions three steps in this verse.  1. Hear 2. Be wise  3. Guide your heart in the way The first step:  'Hear' is a crucial one. We are to hear the voice of God often, listen attentively with a heavenly purpose, and receive the gospel as a message from God. This step is the foundation of our spiritual journey.  The second step:   'Be wise' is equally important. It's not just about hearing but also about acting upon what we hear. We should prepare our minds to know and understand the word of God, embrace the truth, and choose the right path that guides us to heaven. This step is where our faith becomes active.  The third step:   This step   is to 'Guide our hearts to walk in His ways, ' allowing the word of God to lead us toward eternal life. Are we hearing His voice every day and walking i

Blog # 317 - "Abide in God, He hears prayers"

Image
And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:15. Today's verse speaks about the hearing of prayer. Prayer is an essential function of faith—its natural activity. Prayer arises from faith, from the confidence we have in God. Once we submit our petitions to Him according to His will, we should believe that He will answer our prayers. Sometimes the answer will take time, and we need to wait for His timing. To know His will, we should abide in Him and know His heart. To abide in Him, we should delight in the Word of God day and night. To delight in the Word of God, we should have the desire to read the Word and love the Lord. Shall we decide to read the Bible and meditate on that every day? In Psalm 37:4 , King David says, "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart." நாம் எதைக் கேட்டாலும், அவர் நமக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறாரென்று நாம் அறிந்திருந்தோமானால், அவரிடத்தில

Blog # 316 - "God's love is unconditional and vast"

Image
We love Him because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19. God's love is unconditional. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! God is love, created love, and loved us first. He showed His love at the cross and gave His whole life for our sins. In Ephesians 3, the Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesians to understand that Christ may dwell in their hearts by faith; that they, being rooted and grounded in love, may comprehend the breadth, length, depth, and height of Christ's love, and be filled with all the fullness of God. He knew that if they could get a glimpse of His love, it would make a huge impact on the rest of their spiritual lives. Do you love Him? Blog # 315 - "Fear of God brings life and safety."

Image
The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil. Proverbs 19:23. King Solomon emphasizes the importance of the fear of the Lord in this chapter. He mentions that when we fear God, we receive life, satisfaction, and safety.        First , fearing God leads to life. Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, it leads to a life of happiness, prosperity, and success. The Word of God says that the fear of the Lord is a life-giving fountain that prolongs days.       Second , the fear of the Lord brings lasting satisfaction. God reserves peace for those who fear Him.       Third , the fear of the Lord saves from evil. God protects those who fear Him from every danger.  Do you have the fear of the Lord?  Proverbs 14:26 says, "In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge." கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதல் ஜீவனுக்கேதுவானது; அதை அடைந்தவன் திருப்தியடைந்து நிலைத்திர

Blog # 314 - "Seek wise counsel to win battles"

Image
For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 24:6. This verse highlights the importance of seeking wise counsel and advice from others, particularly when facing difficult or challenging situations. We face two kinds of war daily in our lives: spiritual and physical warfare. Both types of warfare require wisdom and the counsel of God and advisors to achieve victory. One of the names of God is Counselor. We need to connect with God more to win spiritual warfare by meditating on His word daily. To overcome physical challenges, we need to surround ourselves with wise people and numerous counselors to make wise decisions and receive guidance. When we trust Him and follow His words wisely, we always win our battles. We know how Moses and Joshua sincerely followed God's counsel to lead the people of Israel. Have you heard the counsel of God? Do you limit wisdom to yourself? Psalm 73:24 says, "You will guide me with Your

Blog # 313 - "God's mercies are new every morning"

Image
Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your law is my delight. Psalm 119:77. The mercies of God are tender, like a father's care or a mother's compassion. They come to us when we are unable to reach out for them. God's mercy is the only means by which we can live. Each morning, our breath is evidence of His mercy. As children of God, we have such a strong desire for mercy that no matter how much we receive, we always ask for more. In this life, we can never be fully satisfied. However, blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied in the future. Shall we aspire for God's mercy to help us improve our lives, forgive our wrongs, and strengthen us to do good? Blog # 312 "Gentle words have great power"

Image
By long forbearance a ruler is persuaded, And a gentle tongue breaks a bone. Proverbs 25:15. In today’s verse, King Solomon explains how patience can win over a ruler and how a gentle tongue can break a bone. The reference to a tongue breaking a bone is a figure of speech, “illustrating that gentle and kind words can be incredibly powerful and effective.” Wise words and timely answers can persuade a ruler to pursue a challenging course of action. 1 Samuel 25 highlights the power of gentle words in Abigail's conversation with King David. Abigail's husband, Nabal, arrogantly rejected David's request for provisions. However, Abigail went to David and persuaded him not to shed blood. David praised God and thanked Abigail for preventing bloodshed. We need to be very careful in how we use our tongues. How about we analyze how we use our words daily? Psalm 37:30 says, “The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just.” நீண்ட பொறுமையினால் பிரபுவையும்

"Eternal life through faith in Jesus"

Image
For the wages of sin is death, but the [h]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23. Apostle Paul speaks about the consequences of sin, emphasizing that every human being born on this earth both inherits and commits sin. Sin, when unforgiven, deserves punishment. Just as every evil behavior is punishable by law enforcement agencies such as the police, sin unforgiven is punishable under the act of God and deserves eternal death. However, God provided a remedy for this death by sending His only Son, Jesus, who died on the cross to save us from our sins. Through Jesus, we obtain forgiveness for our sins and our destination changes from eternal death to eternal life. This eternal life is a gift from God, as we neither worked for it nor earned it by our merits. It is freely given to those who put their trust in Jesus. 1 John 5:11 says, "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son." பாவத்தின் சம்பளம் மரணம்; தேவ

"God's word is sweeter than honey"

Image
How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103. In today's verse, the word of God is described as "sweeter than honey." By comparing God's word to honey, David is saying it is a delightful and satisfying food for his soul, and ours. It is pleasurable and enjoyable. He is nourished by it, feeling refreshed and satisfied. Honey is referenced many times in the word of God as a sign of provision and prosperity.  The Israelites were provided with manna as food, in the wilderness that "tasted like wafers made with honey." The Lord, in His kindness, even provided honey from a rock (Deuteronomy 32:13) ! Are we meditating on the word of God as we would taste honey? Just as honey is sweet and beneficial for our physical health, meditating on the word of God and following its teachings can nourish and strengthen our inner being. Proverbs 24:14 says, "Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a futu

"Reflect God's mercy through your life"

Image
Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7. Mercy is one of the defining characteristics of God. It includes showing kindness to those who don't deserve it and forgiving those who deserve punishment. It is an aspect of His unconditional love. However, He is a perfect God, and we are imperfect people. An imperfect person can show God's perfect mercy by aligning his or her life with the Word of God and by the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We can also reflect mercy by dying to self and living for others.  Jesus tells us that to those who are merciful to others, mercy will also be shown to them. "God's Word guides our steps"

Image
The steps of a good man are [d]ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Psalm 37:23. This is an encouraging verse for all of us today. What does the Word of God tell us about a good man? A good man is a follower of Christ, loves the Lord, and loves others as Christ loves him. He allows God to be in control of his life. He shows compassion and kindness to others, especially those in need. When we follow the will of God, we are following the orderly paths God has established for us. God’s Word is our road map for the Christian life. Everything God wants us to know is found within its covers. For every situation you can think of, God has given direction on how we should respond and deal with it. All we have to do is read and study God’s Word!  Is God delighted in your ways? "Sing praises for God's mighty works"

Image
Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders? Exodus 15:11. The first song that appears in the Bible is the Song of Moses in Exodus 15. Moses and the Israelites immediately burst into singing after their safe journey across the Red Sea. The people of Israel knew that the Lord is the great God and the great King above all gods. Today's verse tells how they honored God and exalted His name. They praised Him as there is none like Him: majestic in holiness, revered with praises, and performing wonders. We should also remember all His mighty works, His holiness, righteousness, power, praiseworthiness, strength, and miracles. When we know Him more, we will not fear men or the enemy. Our faith will be stronger. Every day, we need to learn new things about Him through His word and exalt His name through our life experiences. Shall we sing a song of praise to the Lord today in response to all He has done to us? 1 Chronicle

"Love through actions, not just words"

Image
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 1 John 3:18. This scripture teaches us how we should love others through our actions. While it's important to communicate love through our words, we must also demonstrate it through our actions. Often, we speak kind words and express our willingness to help others, but we fail to follow through. To avoid difficult situations, we may say nice things without actually intending to act on them. Jesus emphasized love in His teachings and demonstrated it through His actions. He washed the feet of His disciples to teach them to serve one another with humility. His sacrificial love on the cross is the greatest example of love in deed and truth. As 1Peter 1:22 says, “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart.” என் பிள்ளைகளே, வசனத்தினாலும் நாவினாலுமல்ல, கிரியையினாலும் உண்மையினாலும் அன்புகூரக்கடவோம்.

"Love others as Jesus loves us"

Image
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:11. God created mankind in His own image to share His love and have a relationship with them. But they disobeyed Him and broke the relationship with Him. Then God felt bad and decided to save them by sending His only Son Jesus to die for their sins and save them. Today, God expects us to show the sacrificial love of Jesus on the cross to others. 1 Corinthians 13 speaks about His love, which is kind, patient, does not envy or boast, and is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. If we have the love of Jesus in our hearts, then we can love others, even those who hate us. We are to imitate the love of Jesus, while serving and loving others just as He did! John 13:34 says, "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are

"Seek God and His Righteousness"

Image
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33. This is one of the promises of God to those who seek Him with all their heart. In this verse, God wants us to seek two things:  1. His kingdom  2. His righteousness.  This means keeping away all the worldly things which easily ensnares us, and run the race of faith that is set before us, looking unto Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of our faith (Hebrew 12:1). We need to discipline ourselves to seek Him first. Prioritize Godly things by meditating the word and praying to Him at all times with thanksgiving. This will help us to seek Him more. We need good fellowship and godly friends around us to grow in Him. Then all the blessings of God will follow us. Colossians 3:1 says, "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God." முதலாவது தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தையும் அவருடைய நீதியையும் தேடுங்

"God Restores with Joyful Salvation"

Image
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Psalm 51:12. God's purpose is to restore man's right standing with Him by forgiving wickedness and remembering sins no more. Psalm 51 records King David’s entire prayer, including his plea for the joy of salvation after his adultery and murder, which led him to depression and loss of joy. He prays in repentance for mistakes that separated him from God and desires to regain the joy he once felt in a close relationship with God. God gave him the joy of His salvation and sustained him with a willing spirit. Are you waiting for restoration in your life? If you repent and ask God, He is ready to forgive, heal, and restore you with the joy of His salvation. Let us say as Psalm 80:7 says, "Restore us, O God of hosts; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!"
