"Christ is risen, hope abounds."

Image
Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Luke 24:5-6. Angels appeared to the women who went to look for Jesus in the grave and declared that Jesus Christ is risen! Death could not hold Him; He rose from the grave. His power could not be contained within a grave, His love could not be conquered by death, and the truth could never be buried and forgotten. He tells us that we don't have to be stuck in our past. No matter what we’ve been through in the past, what we might be facing today, or what uncertainties tomorrow may hold, Christ alone is our Living Hope. Our past cannot hold us, and our future cannot threaten us because He gives us new life every day. He wants us to believe in Him and walk in the power of His resurrection to see miracles every day in our lives.  Romans 8:11 says, "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spi

"Jesus offers rest, light burdens."

Image
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Matthew 11:29-30. This verse tells us about the rest and freedom we receive from Jesus when we are willing to take His burden upon us. No doubt, Jesus is burdened for the perishing souls. Jesus is telling us that when we come to Him with heavy hearts, burdens, and deep sorrows, He calls each of us to learn how to handle challenges and heavy burdens that we cannot bear otherwise. He says that when we are willing to take His burden upon us and learn from Him, we find peace and rest within ourselves. Until we are willing to do His work and share His burden, the troubles and challenges of this world seem too heavy for us to bear. But when we are willing, we learn to exchange our sorrows and pains for His burden, which is light and easy on us.  It's possible because in Philippians 4:13 , Apostle Paul says, "I can do all thi

"Jesus forgives, expects us likewise."

Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. Luke 23:34. This is one of the seven words spoken by Jesus while He was being crucified. Jesus is asking God to forgive those who were actually responsible for putting Him on the cross — the Jewish leaders, the Roman soldiers, and the crowd that was mocking Him. But His forgiveness is also for every person for whom He died, including you and me. This demonstrates His heart of compassion and unconditional love. Now, He also expects us to forgive others as He forgave us and to pray for others as He prayed for us.  Matthew 6:14 says, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

"Humility leads to exaltation; pride, downfall."

Image
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Matthew 23:12. It is a reminder that God works to humble those who try to exalt themselves. At the same time, God works to lift up those who serve and honor others with a humble heart. Apostle Paul says that Jesus was God, and yet, out of His great love for us, He chose to come to earth as a human. Jesus even chose to obey God the Father to the point of a painful death on the cross for our sins. Jesus is the perfect example of humility, and we are called to follow His example. People with humility put the needs of others first before their own, sacrificing their desires and ambitions.  Apostle Paul says in Philippians 2:3, "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself."

"Faith in Jesus brings miracles alive."

Image
If you would believe you would see the glory of God. John11:40. Here, Jesus is talking to Martha and Mary, the sisters of Lazarus, about having faith in Him. When Lazarus became sick, his sisters sent a message asking Him to come over, having complete faith that Jesus would come and heal him. However, we don’t find Jesus rushing towards Bethany. He already knew what He was going to do; for that to happen, Lazarus must die first. So Jesus came after four days of Lazarus' death to see Mary and Martha with His disciples. The Jews believed that when a person dies, their spirit leaves the body after three days, and then the spirit is unable to reunite with the body. So Jesus took that time to show that if we believe, we could see the glory of God raising Lazarus from the grave. Even today, Jesus performs miracles in our lives if we believe. However, we must be willing to wait for His timing.  In Mark 9:23, Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believ

"Fearless through Jesus' sacrifice and love."

Image
“Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.” John 12:15. God reassures us not to be afraid. He came as a King, humbled Himself, and willingly sacrificed His life to deliver us from the grip of fear. In the midst of life's challenges, we may feel overburdened, but through His sacrifice, we find strength and courage. Today, we can live without fear, knowing that His sacrifice on the cross has conquered it once and for all. As we trust in Him, He empowers us to overcome every fear and uncertainty that may come our way.  And as John 12:13 reminds us, just as the crowd laid down palm branches to welcome Jesus as King, we too can lay down our fears at His feet, embracing the eternal hope of living with Him forever. Truly, it is a remarkable blessing to have Him as both our Savior and King.

"Repentance brings comfort and forgiveness."

Image
See, I have taken out of your hand the cup of trembling. Isaiah 51:22. Prophet Isaiah is telling about the people of Israel who provoked God by disobeying His commandments and not following His ways. So they drank in the cup of wrath, which is the punishment of God. After they realized their mistakes and came back to God for forgiveness, God took the cup of trembling and His wrath away from them and comforted them. The same situation occurs in our lives when we do not follow God's Word and go astray; we need to face the consequences. When we call upon His name and turn away from our wickedness, He forgives us and comforts us. He will not allow us to suffer if we repent. In Psalm 55:22 , King David says, “Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. ” இதோ, தத்தளிப்பின் பாத்திரத்தை உன் கையிலிருந்து நீக்கிப்போடுகிறேன். ஏசாயா 51:22. இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் தேவனின் கட்டளைகளுக்கு கீழ்ப்படியாமலும், அவர் வழிகளைப் பின்பற்றாமலும்  தேவ கோபத

"Peace in knowing God's strength."

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10. This verse is a promise of comfort when we face more challenges than we can handle. When this happens, it's like a storm hitting us one after another. Here, King David says we should be still and know that He is God. He declares that no matter what happens around us, God is our refuge and strength.  In the same way, we need to wait on the Lord by relaxing and quietening ourselves, knowing that He is all-powerful and all-mighty and can help us in any situation. Depending on how much we know Him and trust Him, that much we can wait on the Lord and be still. Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!”

"Mighty God, understanding and merciful."

Image
Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding. Job 36:5.   These are the words spoken by Elihu, one of Job's friends in the Bible. As Elihu proclaims God's goodness, he says that even though God is mighty, He does not dislike anyone. God's understanding is amazing; He never makes any mistakes. God is a God who lifts up the humble as He gives grace to them. He gives wisdom, as from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Because He is such a mighty God, it is better to obey and serve Him. Let us proclaim His goodness and declare His praises to all generations. Isaiah the prophet says in Isaiah 40:28-29, “28. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.”

"God treasures our secret tears."

Image
Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book? Psalm 56:8. God knows everything we are going through; He is Omniscient. Every day, we encounter problems one after another that come and hit us. Sharing our problems with people is not going to help us; we should take them to our Father, who cares for us. According to David, God knows our wanderings, and when we cry secretly to Him, He puts every drop of our tears in His bottle and answers our tears. When we secretly place our petitions at the feet of the Lord, He will reward us openly. The very reason He cares about us and our tears shows that He is mindful of us. When God is mindful of us, He is going to take good care of us. In Psalm 115:12 , David says, "The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron."

"Crafted by Christ for good works."

Image
We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. Ephesians 2:10. Apostle Paul writes that we are God's masterpiece, made in Christ Jesus, to perform good acts and works that God prepared for us before we were even born. These actions and works can only be carried out through our new life in Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit working in and through us. When we yield ourselves to Christ to change and transform our lives day by day through the Word of God, our old nature will fade, and new characters like Christ Jesus will emerge. This will enable us to fulfill His will and plan to do great things for God. In Ephesians 4:24 , Apostle Paul says, "You put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."

"Transformation through affliction"

Image
Before I was afflicted I went astray, But now I keep Your word. Psalm 119:6.7 Today's scripture reflects on David's past and present life. Once afflicted, he has now spiritually grown. David endured suffering at some point in his life and even strayed from God's ways. However, later he has turned away from his old lifestyle and embraced following God's ways. He now puts into practice what he has learned about God. Affliction or suffering not only leads us through challenging moments but also transforms us, deepening our commitment to following God's commandments. That is why David acknowledges that afflictions were allowed for his good, enabling him to learn God's law. The spiritual growth he is experiencing now is the result of what he has gone through in his life. God allows every struggle for our good, not to harm us, but to build us up. " It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes." Psalm 119:71.

"Pleasing God through fasting and prayer."

Image
You shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ Isaiah 58:9. A couple of verses preceding this one discuss the type of fasting that God expects from us. Often, we fast and pray to fulfill our own desires and intentions. However, when we engage in spiritual disciplines with the intention of fulfilling God's purposes—such as delivering the oppressed and those living in wickedness, feeding the hungry, and providing for the needy, God hears our prayers. Today's verse offers a promise for those who obey God in this regard. What an assurance God gives to those who please God through their spiritual disciplines, such as fasting and prayer! The same thing King David said in Psalm 34:15, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry.”

"Faith is the combination of belief and action."

Image
Without faith it is impossible to please Him. Hebrews 11:6. Today, in this world, people often seek to please one another in order to gain favor and accomplish tasks. They are easily swayed by those who can please them. Politicians seek to please citizens, students try to please teachers, and employees strive to please employers to gain their favor. On the contrary, God asks us to please Him not through material offerings, blind obedience, or mere affection but through faith. Not just any faith but a belief in His existence and in His willingness to answer when we earnestly seek Him. This scripture highlights the essential attributes required to please God and obtain His favor. Let's keep our faith in God vibrant by taking proactive steps in areas where we believe in His ability to act on our behalf.  James 2:26 says, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."

"Don't let jealousy disrupt your peace."

Image
A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones. Proverbs 14:30. King Solomon discusses the importance of having a peaceful heart and warns about the dangers of envy in today's scripture. A calm heart helps us to overcome worry, stress, confusion, and anxiety, leading to a healthier spiritual and physical life. Envy, jealousy, coveting, and bitterness, however, lead to sickness. Envy can be likened to severe disease, slowly consuming those who harbor it, ultimately destroying them. The story of Cain's murder of his brother Abel in the Bible illustrates how jealousy, anger, and a lack of self-control can lead to tragedy. Similarly, in our lives, allowing jealousy to control us can rob us of peace and condemn us to eternal suffering. On the other hand, embracing God's teachings can grant us a sound heart and eternal life.  Proverbs 17:22 says, "A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones."

"Fear of the Lord is wisdom's Gateway"

Image
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever. Psalm 111:10. Today's scripture tells us where to find wisdom and how to attain it. Fearing God means knowing Him, and this is where true wisdom lies. Proverbs also teach us the necessity of submitting to God's will, as doing so leads to wisdom. The key to wisdom and a fulfilling life is starting with the fear of the LORD, which serves as the gateway. Without it, wisdom is unattainable. If we fear the Lord, we will listen to and obey His commands. We can simultaneously revere, respect, and love Him. These attitudes lead to our obedience.  In Proverbs 9:10 , King Solomon says, " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

"Jesus came to save the Lost"

Image
It is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish. Matthew 18:14. This scripture reveals the heart of God. If we were in His place, we might take it easy and not concern ourselves with the one sheep that is lost, as we still have the ninety-nine with us. But our heavenly Father has a heart for the one that is lost.  As we are priceless, God cannot afford to lose us. That's why He didn't spare His own Son but handed Him over to death for all of us. One thing that God cannot bear is to see people perish in eternal hell, despite allowing His own Son to die on the cross. That's why the Son of Man came: to seek and save the lost. In Mark 2:17 , He (Jesus) said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

"In God's hand, we find solace."

Image
Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. Psalm 139:10. King David is speaking about the omniscient (all-knowing) and omnipresent (being present everywhere) nature of God. He is saying, 'God, you know everything I think and do, and God, you know everywhere I am trying to go. Wherever I go and whatever I do, you always hold me with your right hand.' This scripture gives us comfort, knowing that God is there for us in whatever situation we may find ourselves. By providing such care, not only does God protect us, but He also ensures that we don't stray from His will. He is our maker, provider, and protector, knowing what's best for His children. He is always there for us. Through Prophet Isaiah, God gives this assurance. Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”

"Word of God: My Lifelong Shield"

Image
I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have given me life. Psalm 119:93 King David understood the power of the Word of God. He declared that he would never forget the Word because it had protected him throughout his life. David encountered numerous challenges, including confrontations with evil men, encounters with ferocious animals, battles against deadly diseases, and various dangers. However, he held onto the Word of God, which preserved his life. In different situations, he found God to be his refuge and shelter. In our lives today, if we keep the Word of God in our hearts and faithfully follow Him, God will protect us from all dangers and preserve us until the end of our lives. In Psalm 121:7 , King David says, "The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul."

"Diligence cultivates wealth, laziness reaps nothing."

Image
The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich. Proverbs 13:4. Today's verse describes the characters of a lazy man and a hardworking man and what they gain. The lazy man hates hard work and perseverance. He loves to sleep, wants to take days off, tries to do easy work, and lives in a comfort zone. King Solomon says, 'The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing.' (Proverbs 20:4) . A diligent man is the opposite. He loves hard work, works hard each day, and enjoys prosperity and plenty, but the lazy man covets and misses out. In  Proverbs 10:4 , King Solomon says, “He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.”

"From Mourning to Dancing: God's Transformation"

Image
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness. Psalm 30:11. In today's verse, King David expresses his gratitude for God's deliverance. He faced many challenges in life, including his own sins and enemies. Like us, he experienced times of distress, discouragement, and even sickness. At times, his burdens were so heavy that he wept throughout the night, seeking God's mercy. God heard his prayers and exchanged David's garment of sorrow for clothes of joy. The same God can help us too, when we cry out to Him for His mercy. In Psalm 16:11 , King David says, "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

"Sacrificial love: God's profound gift"

Image
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32. Let's observe what God has done for us. God gives us hope that He will provide everything necessary for our lives. Even though Jesus was His only Son, God did not consider Him too precious, but gave Him as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins, granting us the free gift of salvation. And it doesn't end there; along with Jesus, other blessings necessary for our lives have also come. The phrase 'did not spare His own Son' reveals the deep love God has for mankind. It signifies an exchange that took place to spare us from eternal death.  Though He was God's own Son, yet, being made sin for us, it pleased the Lord to bruise him. "God's Promise: Strength, Refuge, Protection, Shade."

Image
For You have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; Isaiah 25:4. This is a great promise of God: He is a place of safety and protection for us when we are weak and in need. He is our strength and refuge when we suffer from fear, anxiety, sorrow, and pain as we trust Him. The prophet Isaiah says in today's verse that there are four different ways God strengthens and protects us when the storm hits against us if we trust Him.  The ways are: A strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress,  A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat.   God expects us to trust Him no matter what comes against us. "Strength in faith conquers life's giants."

Image
Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10. Every day, we face battles against fear, anxiety, and discouragement. In the Bible, the children of Israel also faced such a battle against the Philistine Goliath. But in the midst of this battle, the Lord showed the power of His might through David. This young man defeated Goliath, not with his strength but with the name of the Lord of Hosts. Today, we may face many giants, but we can defeat them by standing firm in the faith, being strong in the Lord, and by using the authority in the name of the Lord. In 1 Corinthians 16:13 , Apostle Paul says, “Be on the alert. Stand firm in the faith. Be men of courage. "Faithful prayer heals the sick"

Image
The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. James 5:15. This verse focuses on the power of faith in prayer. In the Bible, in Matthew 8:5-13, as Jesus enters Capernaum, a Roman officer known as a 'centurion' begs him to heal his servant. Jesus offers to go to his house, but the centurion says that he is unworthy and asks Jesus to say a word, believing that his servant will be healed. He understands the power of Jesus' words and authority. His servant received healing immediately. Jesus has the power not only to heal but also to forgive us our sins. We must have faith to receive any blessings from Him.  In Hebrews 11:6 , the writer of Hebrews says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

"Trusting in the Lord, Unshakable Stability."

Image
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. Psalm 1251:1. This verse is a great promise for those who trust in the Lord. When we trust in the Lord, we become strong and steady, like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved. Many situations in our lives challenge us and shake our core with fear and anxiety. When our faith is shaken, we become hopeless and seek out something or someone we can depend on. This scripture draws our attention to trust in the Lord. It is so encouraging to know that such trust is capable of keeping us strong and stable even in adverse situations of life. Not everyone gets this opportunity to find stability in the midst of calamity, but only those who trust in the Lord. Let's look unto Him who is worthy of our trust.  King David says in Psalm 16:8 , "I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."

"Joy heals, despair harms"

Image
A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. Proverbs 17:22. Today's verse describes the effect of a merry heart and a broken spirit in our daily lives. A merry heart makes a person cheerful always and gives strength and healing to their life, but a broken spirit harms the person's whole life. We start our day in a good way, but by the end of the day, the challenges we face put us down and take away the joy from us. To maintain this joy and peace, we need to hold onto Jesus and His words. If we keep His words in our hearts and follow them, we can experience joy always. In our trials and tribulations, we rejoice in Him and praise Him if we have fellowship with Him. This is good medicine for our whole being. King Solomon says in Proverbs 14:30 , "A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones."
